The man had multiple unresectable liver metastatic lesions. He commenced chemotherapy according to the mTEGAFIRI regimen, consisting of folinic acid [leucovorin] 50 mg/day and tegafur/uracil 300 mg/m 2 /day, both in two divided daily doses for 14 days, with a 1.5-hour infusion of irinotecan 100 mg/m 2 on day 1 [routes not stated]. He had no adverse reactions during his first two cycles of chemotherapy. However, during his third course, he developed mild stomatitis, which was alleviated by treatment with an ointment. He also developed mild neutropenia during chemotherapy [duration of therapy to reaction onset and outcome not stated]. At last follow-up, he had completed 32 cycles of chemotherapy and had maintained complete response for 15 months. Goi T, et al.
