Reactions 1311 - 24 Jul 2010 Antineoplastics Various toxicities in elderly patients: 3 case reports Three women aged 86, 88 and 93 years with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma started receiving R-CHOP chemotherapy with IV rituximab 375 mg/m 2 on day 1, oral prednisolone on days 1–5, and IV cyclophosphamide 750mg, IV mitoxantrone 8mg and IV vincristine 1mg on day 2 [cycle duration not stated]. One woman developed grade III leucopenia after cycle 2; she subsequently received prophylactic granulocyte colony stimulating factor. Grade II anaemia developed after cycle 6 in another patient; she received darbepoetin during the next two cycles. Mild nausea and vomiting occurred in two patients, one woman developed an upper urinary tract infection requiring antibiotic therapy, and another woman received a quinolone for an episode of bronchitis. Two women received a total of six cycles, and one woman received eight cycles; all achieved complete remission [not all outcomes stated]. Jonak C, et al.
