Various toxicities in elderly patients: 3 casereports
Three women aged 86, 88 and 93 years with diffuse largeB-cell lymphoma started receiving R-CHOP chemotherapywith IV rituximab 375 mg/m2 on day 1, oral prednisoloneon days 1–5, and IV cyclophosphamide 750mg, IVmitoxantrone 8mg and IV vincristine 1mg on day 2 [cycleduration not stated]. One woman developed grade IIIleucopenia after cycle 2; she subsequently receivedprophylactic granulocyte colony stimulating factor. Grade IIanaemia developed after cycle 6 in another patient; shereceived darbepoetin during the next two cycles. Mildnausea and vomiting occurred in two patients, one womandeveloped an upper urinary tract infection requiringantibiotic therapy, and another woman received aquinolone for an episode of bronchitis. Two womenreceived a total of six cycles, and one woman received eightcycles; all achieved complete remission [not all outcomesstated].Jonak C, et al.
