Reactions 1369 - 17 Sep 2011 S Antineoplastics Mucositis, myelosuppression and diarrhoea in an elderly patient: case report A woman in her 70s with thyroid cancer initially received inpatient chemoradiotherapy with four 1-week IV cycles of docetaxel 25 mg/m 2 on day 1, fluorouracil 370 mg/m 2 days 1–5, and cisplatin 10 mg/body days 1–5. She developed grade 3 oral inflammation, and grade 2 myelosuppression and diarrhoea; treatment was symptomatic [duration of treatment to onset of reactions, and outcomes, not stated]. She had stable disease, and was switched to outpatient therapy with 100 mg/body of oral S-1 (4 weeks with treatment, 2 weeks’ rest). After 9 months she had again developed myelosuppression, and was switched to tegafur/uracil [outcome not stated]. Yamai H, et al.
