Cleft palate (first report with sertraline) in a neonatefollowing in utero exposure: case report

A neonate [sex not stated] with a cleft lip and palate wasborn to a woman who had received setraline [sic] 50 mg dailyuntil week 5 of her last menstrual period [therapeuticindication not stated]. Setraline was restarted for 2 days duringthe second trimester of her pregnancy. » Editorial comment: A search of AdisBase and Medline didnot reveal any previous case reports of cleft palate associatedwith sertraline. The WHO Adverse Drug Reactions databasecontained eight reports of cleft palate associated with sertraline.
