Reactions 1379 - 26 Nov 2011 O S Lorazepam overdose Unresponsiveness in an elderly patient, treated with flumazenil: case report A 70-year-old man became unresponsive after starting an iatrogenic overdose of IV lorazepam. He was treated with flumazenil. The man had been hospitalised for more than 180 days with a complicated course. His prescription was intended to be IV lorazepam 1mg every 4 hours as required for nausea or emesis. However, due to multiple errors, the man began receiving 60mg every 4 hours, and became unresponsive [duration of treatment to reaction onset not stated].
