An alternative library informationsystem, Libro System was developed by Filipinolibrarian. The library software is competitive withforeign information systems both in performance andcosts. It is one of the most dynamic, comprehensive,and easy to use library information systems ever builtto computerize and manage information centers,libraries, and data banks. It offers the most extensiveset of modules, features and routines to automatelibrary functions. Primarily designed for use bylibrarians, information specialists and recordmanagers. Microsoft Access 97 is the databasebackend.

It offers adaptable online searching capabilities to helpthe clientele easily locate materials they need. Libraryprocesses are simplified to facilitate efficient andeffective library management to the extent mostbeneficial even to a one-man librarian. The system canrun in either standalone or network, and likewise,barcode-ready. It even generates several libraryreports like collection development analysis, loanstatistics, loan history, book list per discipline,accession list, inventory, authority list, periodical titlelist, users statistics, etc.
