Reactions 1365 - 20 Aug 2011 S Antineoplastics Hypothyroidism: 14 case reports In a retrospective study, 11 boys and three girls aged 2–16 years were diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Patients received three or six cycles of chemotherapy according to the ABVD protocol, which included IV doxorubicin 25 mg/m 2 , bleomycin 10 mg/m 2 , vinblastine 6 mg/m 2 and dacarbazine 375 mg/m 2 on days 1 and 15. Radiotherapy was also administered in all patients, with 12 patients receiving radiotherapy to the neck or mantle region. Thyroid dysfunction was detected between the first year and more than five years after chemotherapy. Three patients were diagnosed with overt hypothyroidism, while the remaining 11 patients were diagnosed with subclinical hypothyroidism [outcomes not stated]. Demirkaya M, et al.
