Oxcarbazepine

Maculopapular eruptions: 14 case reportsNine female and five male patients [ages not stated] were

identified from a study of 42 patients after they developedmaculopapular eruptions while receiving oxcarbazepine. Allpatients started receiving oxcarbazepine 300mg, with finaldoses of 450–900mg [frequencies, routes and indications notstated]. They developed maculopapular eruptions, defined bythe study as an erythematous exanthema without blistering orpustulation, with latency times of 8–17 days [outcomes notstated]. DNA analysis found the frequency of the HLA-B*3802allele was significantly higher in this group of patients than inoxcarbazepine-tolerant patients.
