Bacillary angiomatosis in a child: case reportAn erythematous nodule appeared above the left eyebrow of

a 12-year-old boy 11 months after he was diagnosed withleukaemia. The patient had received prednisone, vincristine,asparaginase, mercaptopurine, methotrexate, cytarabine andhydrocortisone as remission induction and maintenancetherapy. Consolidation therapy consisted of 6 courses ofmethotrexate and asparaginase. Antibiotic therapy reduced thesize of the nodule but the lesion persisted. A diagnosis ofbacillary angiomatosis was confirmed by results of a biopsyand several laboratory investigations. Erythromycin wasadministered and the lesion resolved completely within thenext 6 weeks.
