My academic experience includes dialectology, translation, language variation and intercultural communication. I have also run classes on phonetics and phonology, general linguistics and culture. They include both theoretical and practical approaches to the subject at hand. Other classes include seminars on political discourse, media discourse and strong focus on sociolinguistics and international studies. Throughout my academic career I have been conducting research into dialect based studies and I have widely published on the issues, by far most on Canadian English. I have also lectured on cross-cultural communication and international relations at LISA (Lodz International Studies Academy). I have organized numerous academic conferences including two on intercultural and international communication (INTERCOM). I currently hold the position of Vice-Dean at Lisa My PhD dissertation concerned the concept of lexical variation in multicultural and multi- linguistic environments in Canada. The undertaken study focuses on vocabulary, which reflects unique Canadian traits, that is elements that share not only a Canadian origin but also reference to everyday contexts present on both the micro and macro level. The conducted study involved distribution of questionnaires, which tested speaker knowledge of Canadian register, their ability of using them in an everyday context and the identification of items. Furthermore, I had obtained two years worth of texts from the 'Toronto Sun', which enabled the observation of Canadianisms within the written medium of media context. The resulting data formed a corpus labelled by as the LCTES (Lodz Corpus for Toronto English Study),
