Car Battery Tips1.Check your battery every now and then to make sure its terminal connec-tions are clean, snug and protected from the elements. Signs of corrosion or leakage could mean that your bat-tery is no longer operating as well as it should.2.Always unplug accessories and turn off lights when your car is turned off.3.Keep the battery in cooler places whenever possible. Heat damages bat-teries.4.Scrub corrosion from the terminals with a solution of water and baking soda.

Just found the worst page in the entire dictionary. What I saw was disgraceful, dis-gusting, dishonest, and disingenuous.

Most of our music store customers have a story about their old vinyl col-lection. Once, a man asked how much a record cost. My coworker quot-ed him the price, then added, “But there’s a surcharge if we have to listen to how your moth-er made you throw out all your old vi-nyl records.”

While I was work-ing as a store San-ta, a boy asked me for an electric train set. “If you get your train,” I told him, “your dad is going to want to

play with it too. Is that all right?” The boy became very quiet. So, moving the conversation along, I asked, “What else would you like Santa to bring you?” He promptly replied, “Another train.”

A farmer counted 196 cows in the field. But when he rounded them up, he had 200.

Q: Why does a stork stand on one leg?A: Because it would fall over if it lifted the other one.

Q: Why do ducks fly south?A: Because it’s too far to walk!

Q: What was the farmer doing on the other side of the road?A: He was catching all the chickens!

Q: Why did the poultry farmer become a school teacher?A: So he could grade his eggs.

Q: Why does a dog wag its tail?A: Because there’s no one else to wag it for him.

HUMOR TIME:Two horses were walking back to the pad-dock after a day’s training. One says to the other, “I can’t understand why we are so slow, we come from good stock, we have the best of food, great trainers, and yet we come last in every race.” There was a dog running along side them who overheard and said “I know what your problem is. I have seen you race and it looks to me as if you race off at the start really fast and use up all your en-ergy and then you have nothing left. What you should do is pace yourselves and when all the other horses are tuckered out, put in a spurt and you’re sure to win. What do you think of that?”. The horses looked at one another and said “WOW, a talking dog!”

The California State Department of Fish and Game is advising hikers, hunters, fishermen and golfers to take extra precautions and keep alert for bears while in the Yosemite and Mammoth areas. They advise people to wear noise-producing devices such as little bells on their clothing to alert but not startle the bear unexpected-ly. They also advise carrying pepper spray in case of an encounter with a bear. It is also a good idea to watch for fresh signs of bear ac-tivity and know the difference between black bear and grizzly bear droppings. Black bear droppings are smaller and contain berries and possibly squirrel fur. Grizzly bear drop-pings have little bells in them and smell like pepper spray.

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee-haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawOn this day in 1979, “The Dukes of Haz-

zard,” a television comedy about two good-old-boy cousins in the rural South and their souped-up 1969 Dodge Charger known as the General Lee, debuts on CBS. The show, which originally aired for seven seasons, centered around cousins Bo Duke (John Schneider) and Luke Duke (Tom Wopat) and their ongoing efforts to elude their nemeses, the crooked county com-missioner “Boss” Jefferson Davis Hogg (Sorrell Booke) and the bumbling Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane (James Best).

“The Dukes of Hazzard” was known for its car chases and stunts and the General Lee, which had an orange paint job, a Con-federate flag across its roof and the num-bers “01” on its welded-shut doors, became a star of the show. The General Lee also had a horn that played the first 12 notes of the song “Dixie.” Due to all the fast driv-ing, jumps and crashes, it was common for several different General Lees to be used during the filming of each episode.

The General Lee also had a CB (Citizens Band) radio and Luke and Bo Duke’s CB nicknames or “handles” were Lost Sheep #1 and Lost Sheep #2, respectively. “The Dukes of Hazzard” (along with the 1977 trucking movie “Smokey and the Bandit”) helped promote the CB craze that swept America from the mid 1970s to the early 1980s.

Among the other cars featured on the show were Boss Hogg’s white Cadillac Deville convertible, Uncle Jesse Duke’s (Denver Pyle) Ford pickup truck and var-ious tow trucks and vehicles belonging to Cooter Davenport (Ben Jones), the lo-cal mechanic. Bo and Luke’s short-shorts wearing cousin Daisy Duke (Catherine Bach) drove a yellow Plymouth Roadrun-ner with black stripes and later a Jeep with a golden eagle emblem on the hood and the word “Dixie” on the doors.

The final episode of “The Dukes of Haz-zard” originally aired on August 16, 1985. The show spawned several TV specials and a 2005 movie starring Johnny Knoxville, Seann William Scott and Jessica Simpson.

Weekly Pet Horoscopes (January 18, 2016 to January 24, 2016)

Aquarius Monday isn’t the best day to plan an outing for you and your pet. The stars’ energy

on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday brings unexpected emotions, but don’t expect your pet to know what you’re thinking; if you’re going to vent about human issues, don’t do it near them. Friday and Saturday find you and your pet as daydreaming pals; spending the hours lazing in the sun together is the perfect way to spend the day.

Capricorn A struggle for power ensues on Monday; make sure your pet knows that you have

the authority in your relationship! A change in your relationship may occur on Tues-day, Wednesday, and Thursday, but your loyalty won’t be compromised. Week’s end is a good time for you to take a different approach with your pet, especially if you’ve been having training issues of any kind. Communication is more difficult than usual on Sunday, so try to listen carefully to what your pet may be trying to tell you nonver-bally.

SagittariusAn enlightening experience will bring you closer to your pet on Monday. Power

struggles ensue on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, so be sure to let them know who’s boss. Look for strange behavior toward the end of the week, and if it persists, it may be time to take your animal pal to the see the vet. Saturday is a good day to make major pet-related purchases; good sales are to be found if you know where to look.
