FP6Application for SSA project in the 4th call

Problems to be solved:

fragmented industry structure with nearly 1 mln employees

the need to improve the level of competitiveness (innovation, technology, resources and know-how).

envirnmental protection and production technology need to be improved

FP6Application for SSA project in the 4th call

Aim of the project:

Support the Forestry-Wood-Chain in the ERA by:

developing an integrated strategy that links RTD

and innovation capabilities to the needs of industry

and the consumer / end user

FP6Application for SSA project in the 4th call

Objectives:

1) to set up contact databases of performers in the

providing community (EU-25) and of the industrially

performing community (EU25)

2) to simultaneously carry out two online-surveys both

concerning the providing community’s capability and

the industrial needs

FP6Application for SSA project in the 4th call

Objectives:

3) to carry out interactive database analyses to bridge the

gap between the providing community’s capabilities and

the operational needs of industry in the enlarged

European FWC by:

merging of individual databases match analysis - „capabilities” vs. needs in the enlarged

FWC gap analysis- „capabilities” vs. needs in the enlagred FWC

FP6Application for SSA project in the 4th call

Objectives:

4) to develop integrated future startegies to bridge the gap between the providing community’s capabilities and operative needs of industrial performers in the enlarged European FWC

5) Dissemination: Newsletter to co-operating companies and institutes Pan-European conferences with workshops

Possible topics - examples: identifying technologies for forest management practices, systems that could be applied to have a

sustainable forest some specific topics related to NMS - that could be

important to the EU natural forest analysis, include international

dimension

e.g. create a platform, network ...
