Reactions 1180 - 1 Dec 2007 S Carbamazepine EEG abnormalities following massive toxicity: case report A 21-year-old man was found comatose with seizures; on day 1, an EEG showed continuous, generalised, rhythmic, high-amplitude delta waves with a frequency of 0.5–1Hz, and he had massive carbamazepine toxicity with a concentration of 71.1 mg/L [dosage, indication and time to reaction onset not stated]. On day 2, EEG showed generalised alpha activity; on day 4, he had continuous slow activity of 1–2Hz, and a carbamazepine concentration of 21.3 mg/L [treatment not stated].
