From the Pastor’s Desk Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
I want to take this time to inform the parish that I will be having hip replacement surgery. I have delayed this for as long as I can. The date of the surgery is January 12,2018. It will be done at
Christ Medical Center.
The doctor has informed me that my recovery time will be at least 8 weeks. This will include the time after the surgery and time for
rehabilitation. I ask for your prayers during this time.
I have been working to insure that during my absence normal parish life will continue. I am confident that Fr. Jack Dowling and Fr. John Sotak will continue to serve the parish. The parish staff is more than capable of continuing their excellent service to the
parish.
Again, I ask for your prayers during this time.

New Catholic School Scholarship Opportunity for 2018/19 School Year
Through the “Invest in Kids Act,” the state of Illinois has created a new way to fund scholarships for children from low-income households who want to attend private
schools. This program provides an opportunity for more students to receive a quality Catholic education. The tax credit scholarships offered through this program could cover up to 100 percent of tuition and fees for eligible, low-income students. Not all
families will be eligible for the new scholarships, but we want to make sure all families are aware of the program.
Program details are still being finalized, but you can find information on the scholarships, the application process and the “Frequently Asked Questions” (FAQ)
on the Archdiocese of Chicago’s website, archchicago.org/tcs.
If you have any questions about tax credit scholarships, please contact the
Archdiocese at [email protected] or 312.534.5321.

Archdiocese of Chicago November 22, 2017
Dear Friend in Christ,
On behalf of the Archdiocese of Chicago and our brothers and sisters who have been severely affected
by Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma, I want to sincerely thank you for the tremendous outpouring of support you have shown them during this challenging time. Banding together to answer the cry of those in
need and bringing financial, physical, and spiritual aid to those who have lost so much is a reflection of how
God’s love lives in all of us.
As a donor to the Hurricane Relief Appeal, your tremendous generosity has gone towards Catholic
Charities USA’s emergency relief and support efforts to those affected by these devastating natural
disasters. You helped us raise over $800,000 during this appeal, a true testament to the compassion of the
people of the Archdiocese of Chicago.
May God bless you and your family during this holiday season!
My sincerest thanks,
Fr. Peter Wojcik Director, Parish Vitality and Mission

GOD’S PROMISE TO ALL PEOPLE
Today Isaiah reminds the people of God that the land shall be restored to their possession, they shall rejoice to see their people return from the bondage of exile, and that they shall be a light to
the nations. In other words, through the people of Israel, the Savior shall come to all people who seek God with a sincere
heart. This brings joy and the radiance of God’s glory to all the world and to all people everywhere. Through the fidelity of the people of God, and through God’s fidelity to them, all people
shall become God’s children and rejoice in the fulfillment of God’s promise to Israel.
Lord every nation on earth will adore You. Se postraran ante ti, Señor, todos los pueblos de la
tierra.

St. Vincent de Paul Society “Thanks” You!!JOY TO THE WORLD
A CHRISTMAS THANK YOU TO THE FAMILY OF ST.TURIBIUS
Once again, we find ourselves owing a debt of gratitude to you, our Parishioners, for the very successful ST. VINCENT DE PAUL CHRISTMAS DISTRIBUTION of
food and Christmas presents for the children. The evening was wonderful because of your generosity. At this time, we would like to express our sincere
thanks to everyone who made this evening possible.
A great big Thank You to the PARISHIOINERS WHO PARTICIPATED IN THE GIVING TREE by purchasing a Christmas Gift for a child who might not
otherwise have received one. We wish you could have been there to see the happy smiles on their faces.
Once again, the ST. TURIBIUS RELIGIOUS EDUCATION STUDENTS were there in full force, working as hard as they could, setting up tables, carrying tons of food to the Felician Hall and setting it up for distribution, carrying bundles of food for the clients, and staying until the very end to help with all the clean up.
Thank you Religious Education Students for your kind and loving hearts and your hard working hands. Thank you to your parents and your teachers for helping
you to become the wonderful young men and women that you are.
We also have a huge debt of gratitude to you, the FAMILY OF ST. TURIBIUS, for your consistent help with donations of food and monetary gifts, which enable us to purchase much needed items, such as Christmas Hams for this Distribution.
You, our Parishioners, are the main support of our organization, and your generosity has always been something that we can depend on.
In closing, we would like to thank everyone who helped make this evening a huge success. The Christmas Distribution and the Christmas Giving Tree
Distribution was a very successful endeavor, thanks to all of you. Our favorite method of thanking you is to say.......
"God Bless You All, and, once again,we couldn't have done it without you"

Parish Mission Statement
We Believe that God is Love, and when we live in love we live in God and God lives in
us! Therefore we, the Parish Family of Saint Turibius, dedicate ourselves to living out
Christ’s Great Commandment: we will love the Lord our God with all our heart, with all our soul, with all our mind, and with all our strength, and we will show our love for God
by the way we love and care for one another. To this end, we will respond to our baptismal
call, strengthened by the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and empowered by
the Holy Spirit. As a Family of Faith that has an Attitude of Gratitude for the gifts God has given to us, we will share our time, our talent
and our treasure with each other. We welcome into our parish family all people, because we
believe that together we are the Body of Christ and together we can bring the love, peace,
forgiveness, healing, and joy of Christ into our community in ways we never could have if we were to remain apart. May all who meet us, who worship with us, who work and play with
us, know we are Christians by our love!
