Hepatitis: case reportAn 8-year-old girl started receiving oxcarbazepine twice

daily, 10 mg/kg/day [route not stated] for partial epilepsies.Fourteen days later, she presented with a 2-day history ofmalaise and poor appetite and a 1-day history of fever. Onadmission it was noted that she had acute hepatitis withpharyngitis. She received supportive care and IV fluids.Oxcarbazepine was withdrawn and she started receivinglevetiracetam. On day 4 of hospitalisation, her liverenzymes had improved and her symptoms had resolved.She was discharged in a stable condition.
