INTRODUCTION

Youth Climate Report (YCR) is a crowd sourcedmedia project by youth for youth.

The project was developed by Neko HarbourEntertainment in partnership with the UnitedNations Environment Programme (UNEP).

Neko Harbour Entertainment was also privilegedto have presented its documentaries to delegatesof COP15 and COP16.

Through its participation at COP16, the film, "ThePolar Explorer", influenced negotiators to includein the final conference communiqu for the firsttime recognition that melting land ice willcontribute significantly to global sea level riseover the next 100 years and that coastalcommunities must begin to prepare for this event.

In YCR we look for talented writers,photo journalists and videographers to

contribute to the Youth Climate Reportweblog and to interview climate changescientists and researchers.

For YCR, we say your climate your worldyour story!

Youth Climate Report is in its secondyear of a planned multi-year, ongoing,crowd-sourced multi-platform series.

The project showcases the latestclimatechange research and discoveriesmade by

scientists from around the world, andexamines the impact of climate changeviacontributions from young people.

REPORTERS:Reporters appear on camera asinterviewers to interview climatechange scientists or researchersfrom around the world.

YCR Producers write, organize, shoot

and edit short (2-3 minutes) newsreports from interviews conducted by

YCR Reporters with climate change

scientists and researchers

INTERVIEW TIPS

At the beginning of your interview, askthe interview subject to state their nameand spell it (our editor will need to knowthe correct spelling).

Ask them to state their title or professionand where they work (e.g. Climatologist,University of Cambridge).

Ask them what new climate discoveriesthey have made that they feel delegatesattending the climate change conferenceshould know.

If you dont understand what they say,ask them to explain to you remember, policy-makers arentnecessarily scientists and they will

need explanations too.Ask them what they believe is thegreat climate change crisis facingthe world today.

Ask them if they have an idea how wecan correct this problem orprotect ourselves from its dangers.

Ask them to provide a message aimeddirectly at delegates and policy-
