Loraze pam Loss of libido: 2 case reports Case 1 Stress-induced an xiety symptoms had persisted for 6 months In a 35-year-old man . Physical examination revealed no abnormalities , and he reported no change in hi s sexual drive, desire or performance. Counselling sessions were advised and lorazepam 1 mg tid was prescribed. After 1 month he returned with moderate relief of symptoms, but a complete loss of libido. Lorazepam was withdrawn, and 11 month later he reported complete return of his usual libido Case 2: Tension headaches of > 8 years' duration prompted a 45-year-old man to seek consultation. He reported mild anxiety symptoms and frequent headaches, but there were no depressive features and no changes in sleep, appetite or libido. Long -term counselling, relaxation exercises and lorazepam 1 mg tid were advised . He developed loss of libido within 1 week of starting lorazepam, and returned 3 weeks after the Initial consultation. Lorazepam was discontinued and his libido returned to normal within 1 week .
