Chollas Triangle General Plan Amendment and Rezone

On Tuesday, my Council Colleagues and I unanimously approved this amendment that

will allow property within the Chollas Triangle to be re-designated and/or re-zoned

for Neighborhood Village - Park and Open Space uses. This process involved

significant community input in establishing the vision for the area.

The hope for our community is that this will be an active neighborhood village with a

mixture of residential, commercial, and recreational uses. In addition, it is

envisioned that this open space system and development pattern will connect the

adjacent neighborhood to and through Chollas Triangle. This is great news for us!

Happy Independence Day

In a few days, our nation will celebrate its 239th

birthday. I am honored to be your

Councilmember – to be representing the Fourth

Council District – the best district in the City of

San Diego. We are working to attract people to

live, work, and visit our neighborhoods. We are

also working hard to attract businesses to

invest, grow, and prosper in our communities.

As we celebrate this hallmark holiday of freedom and democracy, let’s not forget

the recent events that have tried to challenge our freedom to worship, our

freedom of speech, and the very ideals we hold near and dear to our hearts. Let

us pause to also remember the brave men and women who have served this nation

and defended our freedom because we know that “freedom isn’t free.” San

Diego is a destination place with plenty of exciting ways to celebrate this holiday.
