A project of a collection of costumes for theatre or film. The costumes were prepared in the Theatre and Film Costume Studio of the Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts Łódź under the supervision of Ewa Bloom Kwiatkowska, PhD for a stage presentation accompanied by classical music of the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries.

Romantic Memory – exposition presented by a group of students of the Faculty of Painting and Graphic at the Academy of Arts in Łódź is the next stage of the project EUR-TEXT - Back to the future! This time, young painters and graphic artists were inspired by the Romantic masterpieces. Deriving from last-year experiences: the exhibition Classical impressions in Abbaye aux

Dames de Saintes in France, workshops and exhibition Musical sentiments at Janáčkova Akademie Múzických Umění v Brně in Czech Republic as well as work presentation in Bajkonur in Łódź in Poland – they have faced another challenge.

The Festival de Saintes, the Jeune Orchestre atlantique, an artistic education programme and the historical site of the abbey are its pillars and the source of its influence.

jest miastem muzyki.Festiwal w Saintes, Jeune Orchestre atlantique artystyczny program edukacyjny i historyczna strona opactwa są jego filarami i źródłem jego wpływu.W architektonicznym kompleksie, gdzie kościół opactwa w stylu romańskim znajduje się blisko klasycznych klasztornych zabudowań, Abbaye aux Dames zapoczątkowało projekt “dotyczący muzyki, a szczególnie jej interpretacji i umieściło go w narodowej i międzynarodowej sieci ”.Jeune Orchestre atlantique oferuje unikalny w Europie program szkoleniowy. Pozwala on młodym muzykom, na koniec ich studiów bądź na początku ich kariery, wzbogacić prezentację klasycznego i romantycznego repertuaru o instrumenty z epoki. Od 2012 r. intensywne sesje Jeune Orchestre atlantique są uznawane na krajowym i europejskim poziomie (ECTS) w ramach programu magisterkiego pod nazwą “Musique: Recherche et Pratiques d’Ensemble”, z główną dziedziną studiów “Orchestre classique et romantique”, pod patronatem Uniwersytetu w Poitiers.

In Saintes, the Abbaye aux Dames

is the city of music.The Festival de Saintes, the Jeune Orchestre atlantique, an artistic education programme and the historical site of the abbey are its pillars and the source of its influence.

In an architectural ensemble where the abbey church in Romanesque style is close to a Classical monastic building, the Abbaye aux Dames has implementeda project “about music, particularly on its inter-pretation and has inscribed it in an national and international network”.

The Jeune Orchestre atlantique proposes a training programme that is unique in Europe. He permits to young musicians at the end of their high education studies or at the beginning of their carrier, to tackle the performance of classical and romantic repertoire on period instruments.The JOA is at the same time resource of training and integration into the workplace.

This training programme takes place at the Abbaye aux Dames, the city of music. Here the musicians find optimal work conditions. They have the benefit of an inspiring environment:The participation of famous conductors (Philippe Herreweghe, Marc Minkowski, Louis Langrée, …)The possibility to form new artistic collaborationsThe aura of the Festival de SaintesA unique training programme lavished and supported by the Orchestre des Champs-ElyséesThis education programme is completed by concerts, some of which take place in the framework of the Festival de Saintes. They offer to these young musicians from around the world a real experience of the stage.

Once getting the highest degree of the CNSM-Paris in violin with Jacques Ghestem as a teacher and in chamber music as well with Jean Mouillère as a teacher Armelle decides to focus on the quartet. Thus she becomes one of the members of ONYX Quartet.Then she goes on studying with Pro Quartet and Rainer Schmitt-member of Hagen Quartet and taking part in international competitions. ONYX Quartet wins a competition in Geneva and the Austrian Reichenau competition whose award is given by the members of Hagen and Berg quartets.From 2001 to 2003 she takes part in the old music programme at the CNR of Paris and in this way becomes familiar with baroque violin with Patrick Bismuth as a teacher.

In 2001 she teaches for the 1st time and she works now as a teacher in Cachan. She also contributes to the educative programmes of the CNSM-Paris and training courses of string quartet and orchestra as well.As a violin player she plays in bands specialized in contemporary music such as 2e2m, Sillages, Multilatérales or for baroque music projects with bands such as Les Nouveaux Caractères and Le Concert en l’Ile.She is a member of the Chambre Philharmonique she often plays with as the 1st violin under the direction of Emmanuel Krivine.

Uzyskawszy najwyższy stopień na CNSM-Paris na skrzypcach, z Jacques’em Ghestem jako nauczycielem oraz w zakresie muzyki kameralnej, z Jean’em Mouillère jako nauczycielem, Armelle decyduje się skoncentrować na kwartetach. W związku z tym zostaje członkinią Kwartetu ONYX.Następnie udaje się na studia z Pro Quartet i Rainer’em Schmitt’em – członkiem Hagen Quartet i bierze udział w międzynarodowych zawodach. ONYX Quartet wygrywa zawody w Genewie oraz turniej Reichenau w Austrii, za który nagroda zostaje przyznana przez członków kwartetów Hagen i Berg. W latach 2001-2003 bierze udział w programie starej muzyki w CNR w Paryżu i w ten sposób zaznajamia się z barokowymi skrzypcami, mając jako

nauczyciela Patricka Bismuth’a.W 2001 r. naucza po raz pierwszy i pracuje jako nauczycielka w Cachan. Przyczynia się do programów edukacyjnych w CNSM-Paris i kursów szkoleniowych w zakresie kwartetów smyczkowych i orkiestry.Jako skrzypaczka gra w zespołach specjalizujących się w muzyce współczesnej, np. 2e2m, Sillages, Multilatérales oraz w projektach muzyki barokowej z zespołami takimi jak Les Nouveaux Caractères oraz Le Concert en l’Ile. Jest członkinią Chambre Philharmonique, z którą często grywa jako pierwsze skrzypce, pod batutą Emmanuel Krivine.

From 1892 to 1895, Dvorak was director and professor in composition at the New York Conservatoire. One of his students remind that he uttered very seriously his artistic credo: “Composition should be only an art totally filled with spirituality”Dvorak added “but I am very surprised that no one of you knows how to compose a so simple trio as them written by Joseph Haydn”This concerned student wanted to please his professor and brought him only one hour after his work that contented all the char-acteristics of Haydn’s chamber music style. What for a surprise was for the student, when Dvorak refused this music piece in these terms: “This work has no value because it’s Haydn’s”.This short anecdote enlightens itself and lets in question the approach of the EUR-TEXT project; Pay homage and restitute our past with contemporaneity. This artistic approach – more evident for creators than performers, is the core of the project.The musicians of the Jeune Orchestre atlantique will play a “happy” work of this composer, his Serenade for Strings opus 22 in C major. This work was composed in Mai 1875 and created on 1876, 10th of December in Prague. W latach 1892-1895 Dvorak był dyrek-torem i profesorem w Konserwatorium w Nowym Jorku. Jeden z jego studentów wspomina, że podkreślał on bardzo poważnie swoje artystyczne credo: “Kompozycja powinna być tylko sztuką całkowicie wypełnioną duchowością”. Dvorak dodawał “ale jestem zdziwiony, że żaden z was nie wie jak skomponować tak proste trio jak te napisane przez Josepha Haydna”. Ów zainteresowany student chciał zadowolić swojego profesora i przyniósł mu zaledwie godzinę później pracę, która zawierała wszystkie cechy charakterystyczne stylu muzyki kamer-alnej Haydna. Ogromnym zaskoczeniem dla studenta było, gdy Dvorak odmówił przyjęcia owej pracy słowami “ta praca nie ma żadnej wartości, bo jest Haydna”.Ta krótka anegdota wyjaśnia i stawia pod znakiem zapytania podejście projektu EUR-TEXT: złożenie holdu i restytucja naszej przeszłości ze współczesnością. To artystyczne podejście – bardziej oczywiste dla twórcow niż występujących, jest rdzeniem projektu.Muzycy Jeune Orchestre Atlantique będą grać “radosne” dzieło tego kompo-zytora, jego Serenadę na Skrzypce opus 22 C-moll. Została ona skomponowana w maju 1875 r., a zaprezentowano ją 10 grudnia 1876 r. w Pradze. Catherine Puig studied piano, viola and orchestral direction in Nîmes and she graduated in viola from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Lyon. During her studies, she was selected to join the European Union Youth Orchestra under the direction of Claudio Abbado and Zubin Mehta. After her studies, Jean-Claude Malgoire introduced her to the interpre-tation on period instruments. She played with music ensembles like Mosaïques and Collegium Vocale Gent before she joined the Orchestre des Champs-Elysées. Since then she has been an active member of this orchestra participating in many recordings under the direction of Philippe Herreweghe. At the same time, she obtained the French Certificat d’Aptitude diploma to teach viola. She has collabo-rated to the Rost manuscript edition by Fuzeau and to the Gabrielli’s Ricercare by Billaudot. Her interest in education and her experience in “historical informed performances” came together at the Abbaye aux Dames de Saintes (France) where she is education manager of the Jeune Orchestre Atlantique. Catherine Puig is also the conductor of an Opera Comique educational project focusing on Gounod’s La Colombe, Grétry’s Le Tableau Parlant and Mozart’s L’Oie du Caire and Bastien und Bastienne.

W międzyczasie przyczynia się do kreacji Avanti! - orkiestry pod batutą Esa-Pekka Salonena i Jukka-Pekka Saraste.Następnie dołącza do orkiestry opery w Lyonie pod batutą J.E. Gardinera. Z tą orkiestrą bierze udział w wielu wyjazdach i nagraniach. Nowe badania muzyczne doprowadzają ją do kupna barokowej wiolonczeli i pogłębienia wiedzy o tym, jak grać wczesną muzykę. W ramach dodatku do jej projektów jako muzyka, prowadzi badania na polu pedagogicznym, zwłaszcza nad tym, jak zaadaptować teorie Pr. Edgara Willemsa do instrumentów smyczkowych. Na tym tle bierze udział w wielu międzynarodowych kongresach. Vérène jest bardzo aktywnym muzykiem, współpracuje z wieloma grupami muzy-cznymi na świecie, np. Les Musiciens du Louvre, La Grande Ecurie & La Chambre du Roy, La Chambre Philharmonique, Stradivaria, Le Concert Spirituel, la Compagnie Les Brigands, l’Orchestre de Chambre d’Auvergne, La Maîtrise du Centre de Musique Baroque de Versailles, Les Siècles, Les Dominos.Jest również zaangażowana w dziedzinie

piosenek i gra z zespołami Volo i IndigoPonadto, jako że zawsze studiowała śpiew, oczywiście kończy współpracując z piosen-karzami zarówno jako wiolonczelistka, jak i śpiewaczka, w projektach dotyczących muzyki kameralnej. Na tym tle tworzy w 2011 r. Alla Voce, który to projekt łączy wokal i wiolonczelę. Wykonuje wiele tran-skrypcji w tym zakresie.W 2004 r. jest jednym z twórców orkiestry muzyki kameralnej Pelleas. Darzy sympatią ten projekt muzyczno-ludzki prowadzony kolektywnie przez Benjamina Levy w stałym porozumieniu z muzykami, którzy cały czas mają istotne z artystycznego punktu widzenia role do odegrania.

After studies at the music school of Lyon Vérène studies 3 years with Arto Noras in Finland where she has got a degree of interpretation at the Sibelius Akatemia. Meanwhile she contributes to the creation of Avanti! Orchestra directed by Esa-Pekka Salonen and Jukka-Pekka Saraste.Then she joins the orchestra of the opera of Lyon directed by J.E. Gardiner. With this orchestra she takes part in many tours and recordings. New musical explorations lead her to buy a baroque cello and to learn more about the way to play early music.Added to her projects as a musician she does researches in the pedagological field especially about how to adapt Pr. Edgar Willems’ theories to the strings instru-ments. In this background she joins numerous international congresses.Vérène is a very active musician who collaborates with many musical groups worldwide such as Les Musiciens du Louvre, La Grande Ecurie & La Chambre du Roy, La Chambre Philharmonique, Stradivaria, Le Concert Spirituel, la Compagnie Les Brigands, l’Orchestre de Chambre d’Auvergne, La Maîtrise du Centre de Musique Baroque de Versailles, Les Siècles, Les Dominos.She is also involved in the song field and plays with the bands Volo and Indigo.Moreover as she has always studied singing she naturally ends up working with singers either as a cello player or as a singer herself for chamber music projects. In this back-ground she creates in 2011 Alla Voce whose project combines voices&celli. She does many transcriptions for this.In 2004 she is one of the creator of the chamber music orchestra Pelleas. She is fond of this musical&human project directed in a collective way by Benjamin Levy constantly in association with the musicians who consequently have a relevant artistic part to play.

AND DREAD A project of a collection of costumes for theatre or film. The costumes were prepared in the Theatre and Film Costume Studio of the Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts Łódź under the supervi-sion of Ewa Bloom Kwiatkowska, PhD for a stage presentation accompanied by classical music of the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries. The starting point for the project was to define and analyze the psyche and image of a Romantic character, a Byronic character and a famme fatale character present in drama, literature, painting, poetry as well as film iconography connected with the19th century literature and iconography.

The subject matter of the presentation could be a particular theatre or film piece. Students were inspired by literary charac-ters or selected motives of the Romantic art – painting, graphic art or fashion.

The project assignment was to prepare a distinct creation, conforming to the selected convention and specifics of stage costume realization. Using iconographic materials connected with the 19th century art, students created their own

vision of costumes for stage characters and built an atmosphere of mystery, terror and a mood of eeriness and beauty char-acteristic for the epoch of Romanticism.

Selected projects included:

- analysis of the theme, iconographic materials and selected inspirations, project documentation along with a description containing guidelines concerning makeup and costume realization as well as details and proposed props. Presentations took into account placing the charac-ters on an appropriately selected background or in an appropriate set design.

Projekt kolekcji kostiumów teatralnych lub filmowych przygotowanych w Pracowni Kostiumu Teatralnego i Filmoweho ASP im W.Strzemińskiego w Łodzi pod kierunkiemdr Ewy Bloom Kwiatkowskiej do pokazu scenicznego z wykorzystaniem muzyki klasycznej z przełomu XVIII i XIX wieku. Punktem wyjÊcia była definicja i analiza psychologiczna i wizerunkowa bohatera romantycznego, bohatera byro-nicznego i postaci femme fatale obecnych w dramacie , literaturze,malarstwie, poezji , ale także w ikonografii filmowej związanej z literaturą i ikonografią XIX wieku.

Przedmiotem realizacji mogło byç zarówno konkretne dzie∏o sztukiteatralnej czy filmowej. Studenci inspirowali się postaciami literackimi bądź wybranymi motywami sztuki epoki roman-tyzmu - malarstwo, grafika, moda .

Zadanie projektowe polegało na opracowaniu wyrazistej kreacji, podporządkowanej wybranej konwencji jak równie˝ specyfice realizacji kostiumu scenicznego.Wykorzystując materiały ikonograficzne związane ze sztuką XIX wieku, studenci stworzyli własną koncepcję kostiumów bohaterów scenicznych,budując przy tym atmosferę tajemniczości, grozy i właściwego epoce romantyzmu klimatu niesamowitości i piękna.

Wybrane projekty obejmowały :

- analiz´ tematu, materia∏y ikonograficzne i wybrane inspi-racje, dokumentacj´ projektową wraz z opisem zawierajàcym wskazówki dotyczàce charakteryzacji oraz realizacji kostiumu, a także detali i proponowanych rekwizytów. Prezentacje uwzględniały umieszczenie wizerunków postaci w odpow-iednio dobranym tle czy scenografii.

One of these is the participation of students of the Faculty of Textile and Fashion in EUR-Text project and their success in the competition accompa-nying the event. Eighteen costumes created in the tailoring workshops in the Department of Fashion Design and the screen printing workshops in the Department of Textile Print were submitted for the competition. Strzemińskiego.Dyplom w 1986 roku wyróżniony stypendium Ministra Kultury i Sztuki.Twórczość w dziedzinie malarstwa, instalacji ,wideo oraz scenografii.Laureatka Nagrody Ministra Kultury i Sztuki I-go stopnia za osiągnięcia w dziedzinie scenografii teatralnej.Prace malarskie i instalacje scenograficzne związane z nurtem ekspresji lat 80-tych i 90-tych pokazywała na wystawach zbiorowych i wystąpieniach indywidualnych w Polsce, Francji, Niemczech , USA i Wielkiej Brytanii – min. wystawa 50-ciu artystów w Moenchengladbach z udziałem A.Warhola, Denisa Oppenheima i Italo Scanga.W styczniu 1989 roku w czasie akcji artystycznej HIMMEL UBER STADT, której towarzyszył manifest S.Kosmynki „Gdy płoną kominy religii, gdy dymią krematoria Sztuki...“ – spaliła swoje obrazy i obiekty malarskie poruszające temat zbrodniczych idei totalitarnych .Tym radykalnym gestem na kilkanaście lat zdystansowała się wobec aktywnej obecności w sztuce najnowszej. Pracownia Kostiumu Teatralnego i FilmowegoPracownia Projektowania Kostiumu Teatralnego i Filmowego jest pracownią dyplomującą . Realizuje program dyda-ktyczny w ramach Katedry Ubioru i jest pracownią o ścisłej specjalizacji projek-towej. Studenci realizują cykl ćwiczeń od podstaw projektowania kostiumu scenicznego bądź filmowego po wieloel-ementowe, rozbudowane projekty całych kolekcji. Program Pracowni jest autorskim programem Ewy Bloom Kwiatkowskiej - scenografa teatralnego i filmowego. Projektowanie kostiumów teatralnych i filmowych, nawiązując do tradycji history-cznych rozwoju sztuki teatralnej i filmowej, poszerza zakres przedmiotu jakim jest projektowanie ubioru. Na każdym etapie ćwiczenia uwzględniają zasadę dopełniania dyscyplin artystycznych i pojęć takich jak sztuka teatralna i plastyka, słowo i obraz, metafora i znak. Realizacja ćwiczeń uwzględnia korzystanie z narzędzi cyfrowych i multimedialnych. Program Pracowni obejmuje również cykl wykładów poszerzających wiedzę studentów z zakresu historii teatru i filmu. Bibliografia, oraz udział w festiwalach i warsztatach sztuki teatralnej i filmowej dopełniaja realizację programu Pracowni.Kostium jako istotny element obrazu scenicznego i filmowego,wpisuje się w obszar problematyki zagadnień dotyczących projektowania scenografii. Program wykładów i ćwiczeń przygotowuje do projektowania wszelkiego rodzaju form kostiumu scenicznego: dramatycznego, baletowego, operowego i filmowego oraz innych form scenicznego ubrania aktora.Realizacja programu pozwala osiągnąć cel, jakim jest wykształcenie umiejętności i świadomości współczesnego projek-towania. Indywidualizacja i atrakcyjność wizualna prezentacji projektu uwzględnia analizę treści tematu oraz definicję metody i realizacji kolekcji kostiumów.

Ewa Bloom KwiatkowskaA graduate of the Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts Łódź.In 1986 she obtained a diploma honoured with the scholarship of the Minister of Culture and Art. Active in the fields of painting, installation, video, set design and costume. She received the 1st degree Minister of Culture and Art Prize for her achievements in the field of stage design.

She presented her paintings and set design installations connected with the expressionist trends of the 1980’s and 1990’s at group and individual exhibitions in Poland, France, Germany, the USA and Great Britain – e.g. an exhibition of 50 artists in Moenchengladbach, presenting works of Andy Warhol, Denis Oppenheim and Italo Scanga.

In the years 2005 – 2011 she created two cycles of paintings KSIĘGA KRONIK XX (The Book of Chronicles XX) and IDEE I MASKI (Ideas and Masks). The works, which were inspired by screen reality, are a painterly reflection on media (film and photographic) codification of crime and terror. The connection

with film and the role of the screen in creating and copying a message are also reflected in her video realizations: Krąg czyli kto ma urojone lęki zasługuje na prawdziwe (Ring. Whoever has imaginary fears deserves to have real ones)/2009, Kolor płonie (Colour is burning) 2010 and multichannel video installation Taniec św. Wita (Saint Vitus’ Dance)/2010/2011.

Since 2009 she has been the head of the Theatre and Film Costume Studio at the Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts Łódź where she implements her authorial programme of classes and lectures. She obtained her PhD title in the area of fine arts at the Faculty of Graphics and Painting of the Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts Łódź in December 2011, presenting a work entitled ŚWIĘTE ZŁO (Sacred Evil) which consists of a cycle of paintings, a set design sketch for Sarah Kane’s Cleansed, a video film and a dissertation. Since 2012 she has been cooperating with the Polish National Film, Television and Theatre School in Łódź, where she is the head of an authorial Studio of Virtual Set Design.

Theatre and Film Costume StudioStudents of the Theatre and Film Costume Studio may obtain their diplomas there. It realizes its teaching programme within the framework of the Department of Fashion Design and its specialization is design in its strictest sense. Students realize a cycle of assignments from basic design of a stage or film costume to multi-element, elaborate projects of whole collections. The programme of the studio is an authorial project of Ewa Bloom Kwiatkowska – a theatre and film set designer. By referring to historical traditions of the development of theatre and film art, theatre and film costume design broadens the scope of the course of clothing design. At each stage of assignments the principle of comple-mentation of artistic disciplines and concepts (such as theatre and fine art, word and image, metaphor and sign) is taken into account. The realization of assignments may involve the use of digital and multi-media tools. The programme of the studio also includes a cycle of lectures which broaden students’ knowledge in the field of history of theatre and film. The reading list and students’ participation in theatre and film festivals and workshops complement the realization of the programme. Costume as a significant element of stage and film image is a part of the area of issues connected with set design. The programme of lectures and classes prepares students for designing all types of costumes: theatre, ballet, opera, film costumes, etc. The realization of the programme allows achieving the aim of developing skills and awareness of contemporary design. “The underlying concept of EUR TEXT is to revisit our European common cultural heritage on a contemporary platform, hence EUR TEXT – Back to the Future. EUR TEXT proposes this process within an interdisciplinary approach where attributes from different art forms can inspire and inform one another. The EUR TEXT fashion show features the work of students from the Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts Łódź (ASP) as well as the MCAST Institute of Art and Design in Malta. The students from both institutions were guided by their lecturers to research the classical and romantic periods to develop their costumes with reference to historical paintings, statuary and architecture. The research of the students extended towards other sources of inspiration such as poetry, fairy tales, cinema and photography. The students applied a variety of techniques to create their projects; from traditional tailoring and embroidery to printing, metalwork, glass. The costumes also include theatrical elements such as masks, special effects and metamorphic aspects.”

The research of the students extended towards other sources of inspiration such as poetry, fairy tales, cinema and photography. The students applied a variety of techniques to create their projects; from traditional tailoring and embroidery to printing, metalwork, glass. My aim is to continue to expand on my abilities and work towards producing more fashion related items that reflect my style and link them to industrial design influences.

From a young age, I have always been inclined to the creative world, dressing myself from the young age of three. Throughout the years this love developed, although not exposed to education in the art sector. My main interest was always fashion; this passion grew further through modelling experiences which I was exposed to. It was only until enrolling in MCAST Art and Design that I could further express my ideas in creative ways. This greatly helped my skills in fashion design since I was doing many different tasks every day. The knowledge I have gained throughout my school experiences will surely help form an interesting future.

Romantyczne wspomnienie – wystawa, którą prezentuje grupa studentów Wydziału Grafiki i Malarstwa ASP w Łodzi to kolejna odsłona projektu EUR-TEXT – Back to the future!Tym razem młodzi malarze i graficy inspirowali się dziełami mistrzów z epoki romantyzmu. Bogatsi o ubiegłoroczne doświadczenia: wystawę Classical impressions w Abbaye aux Dames de Saintes, we Francji oraz warsztaty i wystawę Musical sentiments w Janáčkova Akademie Múzických Umění v Brně, w Czechach, a także ich prezentację w Bajkonurze, w Łodzi, w Polsce – stanęli przed kolejnym wyzwaniem.

Romantic Memory – exposition presented by a group of students of the Faculty of Painting and Graphic at the Academy of Arts in Łódź is the next stage of the project EUR-TEXT - Back to the future! This time, young painters and graphic artists were inspired by the Romantic master-pieces. Deriving from last-year experi-ences: the exhibition Classical impressions in Abbaye aux Dames de Saintes in France, workshops and exhibition Musical senti-ments at Janáčkova Akademie Múzických Umění v Brně in Czech Republic as well as work presentation in Bajkonur in Łódź in Poland – they have faced another challenge.

Romantyzm narodził się jako reakcja na racjonalizm oświecenia. Sztywnym regułom klasycyzmu przeciwstawił swobodną ekspresję emocji, podświadomych instynktów, nostalgii i przeczuć. Młodzi łódzcy artyści w swoich pracach odwołali się do spontanicznego procesu twórczego. Wzorem Byrona czy Delacroix, którzy uciekali w czarowność “bliskowschod-niego” Orientu, często nie zmieniając geograficznego kierunku, szukali w romantyzmie swojej “rzeki zapomnienia”, jak również odrodzeniaŹródła inspiracji skłaniających do myślenia o nieustającym promieniowaniu roman-tyzmu biją z miejsc najrozmaitszych.

Romanticism has rised as a reaction to the rationalism of The Age of Enlightenment. It has contrasted free expression, emotions, subconscious instincts, nostalgy and premonitions with the rigid rules of Classicism. In their works, young artists from Łódź have appealed to a spontaneous creative process. Following an example of Byron or Delacroix, who fled in charm of Near East, often without changing this geographic direction, the students have been looking in Romanticism their “Forgotten River” as well as their rebirth.Inspiration sources, which provoke thinking of a constant Romantic influence, come from all sorts of places.

Helena, niczym dziewiętnastowieczna dama, przez pół roku gromadziła materiały i kolorowe szmatki do swoich paczworków. Bartek poleciał do Londynu, by w Tate Gallery i National Gallery stanąć w cztery oczy z pracami Wiliama Turnera i by tam właśnie wykonać pierwsze szkice do swoich prac. Natalia zorganizowała fotosesję z modelką, która później pojawiła się na jej obrazach. Kubie, w domowym zaciszu, pozowali przyjaciele. Ewelina przeprowadziła fotograficzną inwentaryzację łódzkiej manufaktury. Magdalena romantycznie się zakochała, a Joanna romantycznie, bo listownie kontaktowała się z nami z Kielc, gdzie odbywała staż.

Helena, like a nineteenth-century lady, has been gathering materials and colored cloths for her patchworks for six months. Bartek flew to London to stand face to face with William Turner’s works in the Tate Gallery and the National Gallery with the aim of making his first sketches. Natalia has organized a photo session with a model who appeared on her paintings afterwards. Kuba had his friends posing to his works in a shelter of his house. Ewelina held a “photographic inventory” of Łódź manu-facture. Magdalena felt in love romanti-cally and Joanna, romantically as well, was contacting us by letter from Kielce, where she had an internship.

Rezultatem tej pełnej wyzwań i z założenia romantycznej wyprawy, jest kolekcja dzieł różnych. Prace te będą dumnie reprezentować artystów na kolejnych wystawach, inspirując i zachęcając do odkrywania dawnych epok na nowo. Na dowód szczerości naszych słów postanowiliśmy zgromadzić je w tym katalogu, który jest już trzecim w zbiorach projektu EUR-TEXT – Back to the future!

A various works collection is a result of this challenging and romantic journey. Those creations will proudly represent artists on the next exhibitions, inspiring and encouraging the public to explore the old times again.As a proof of our sincere words, we decided to gather and present the works in this catalog, which is the third one in the project EUR-TEXT - Back to the future! collection.
