In 2014, our Maintenance Ambassadors:

Removed 26,004 pieces of graffiti

Swept 107,000 sidewalks

Emptied curbside trash receptacles 120,339 times

Collected 944.75 tons of trash

Our pressure-washing contractor, Green Clean,

washed 18,360 sidewalks

Trimmed 1,740 trees via contractor Aztec Landscap-

ing and Davey Tree

The Clean and Safe program is committed to keeping

Downtown San Diego pristine and enjoyable for all.

After extensive community outreach, it was clear that Downtown property owners wanted more from the Clean & Safe program—they wanted

the team to step up to make Downtown more beautiful as well. Over the last year, Clean & Safe has instituted a number of beautification

efforts including:

Hanging baskets and corner planters in Cortez Hill

Corner planters in Marina District

Corner planters in Columbia District

All of the beautification efforts are mindful of California’s ongoing drought and are designed to meet the requests of the individual neighbor-

hoods.
