A MESSAGE FROM OUR PASTOR Dear Holy Apostles Parish Family, Happy Easter to all of you! Welcome to anyone who is here for the first time and welcome back to those who have not joined us in awhile. Welcome home to all of our students and visiting family members. We are so glad you joined us today. Easter is the ultimate day to celebrate what Jesus has done for us in suffering death, so we can be forgiven of our sins and saved in the next life! This Lent we have focused on Choosing Christ as our message and in our Small Groups. Our Small Group talks were very impactful with stories we can all relate to. We have been blessed to start those this year in trying to share our relationship with Christ with each other. Our families have enjoyed learn-ing together in Family Faith Formation. Our sacraments have been meaningful. We are blessed to serve as a PADS site each Sunday night, respond to those in acute need with the St. Vincent DePaul Society, and serve those in need of fellowship every Monday for dinner. My hope is that you find us a church who cares about the people who need us and are try-ing to get closer to Jesus. Please join us and be part of good things happening to grow in faith. We are not perfect, but we are trying to ask God to help us grow. Have a Blessed Easter wherever you go today! Father Paul

Wishing you a Blessed and Joyous Easter!

Our Mission Statement: The Church of Holy Apostles is a compassionate, welcoming and healthy family that strives to love God and serve others with respect and dignity.

Show Your Compassion with Gifts to SVdPS Would you like to make a difference in our community but aren't sure where to give? Every penny of your donations to the St. Vincent de Paul Society’s Poor Box (located on the wall near the elevator in the church narthex) or online through GiveCentral assists local area families in need. Your gifts of treasure to SVdPS are used to purchase food at a significant discount, which is then given to our needy neighbors. Some funds might be sent directly to a utility company to avoid shut-off of services for someone in need while other funds may pay for gas or a needed car repair to allow one of our neigh-bors to get to work. Your donations allow our neighbors to feed their families, to live in dignity and to continue to be productive member of our community. Won't you consider a donation today? Monetary donations as well as donations of body wash are greatly appreciated. "Whoever has a bountiful eye will be blessed, for he shares his bread with the poor." Proverbs 22:9

Do you want to receive grace that is equal to what you received at baptism? The Feast of Divine Mercy offers a completely new beginning—a clean slate!! The Feast of Mercy is to be not only a day desig-nated for the worship of God’s mercy, but also a day of grace for all people, particularly for sinners. Jesus attached great promises to this feast. One is the promise of complete forgiveness of sins and punishment. Jesus told St. Faustina that, "On that day (Divine Mercy Sunday) the very depths of My tender mercy are open. I pour out a whole ocean of graces upon those souls who approach the fount of My mercy. The soul that will go to confession and receive Holy Communion on that day shall obtain complete forgiveness of sin and punish-ment. Let no soul fear to draw near to Me, even though its sins be as scarlet. It is My desire that it (Feast of Divine Mercy) be solemnly celebrated on the first Sunday after Easter."** Prepare yourself by making a good confession and be ready to receive Holy Communion on that day. Furthermore, we can be merciful by remembering to pray for souls known or unknown to be drawn to this fountain of Mercy. **to clarify: The Apostolic Penitentiary at the Vatican has indicated that we have 20 days before or after Divine Mercy Sunday to make the required Confession.

Rev. Thomas J. Byrne, M.DIV., S.T.L., is the Associate Dean of Formation, Director of Chicago Seminarians, and Director of Teaching Parish Program at the University of St. Mary of the Lake in Mundelein.

Pedro no sabemos qué pudo pensar.
