Welcome to my brief introduction to Peninsula!

Hi All!

My name is Klaudia Browarska and I’m about to enter into the fourth and final year of my part-time HRM degree at Dublin Institute of Technology.

I recently started a new role as a part of the Records Management Team in an accounting company in the heart of the city called Ernst & Young.

It’s been a great opportunity to work in a highly professional environment, develop new administrative skills through learning new systems and operations.

Previously to this, I was a Coordinator for children's birthday parties at the leisure complex in Rathmines where I also taught swimming.

Coaching was exactly where my interest in Human Resources became obvious!

A great part of it was, after all, planning, leading to success, organizing the resources and controlling the progress!

Throughout the college course I have developed a genuine passion for the field and have excelled in all maths-related modules of the course. So much, that I decided to do an additional payroll course this year.

The area of HR I see myself progressing in over the next while is Learning and Development as it seems to be an inseparable component of successful and motivated workforce.

When teaching, I always saw the learning process as essential to continuous growth. This applies equally to children in the pool who strive to succeed in competitions, as well as today’s workforce that needs to be continually provided with opportunities for self- development to benefit both parties in an employment relationship.

Apart from learning and development, another aspect of HR that’s of great interest to me is health and safety at work.

Although concern for widely drafted safety and wellbeing of workers should be an integral part of all business policies, it is so often dismissed and seen as having little importance.

I am also a great enthusiast of emotional awareness and mindfulness, which comes hand in hand with my natural concern for general wellbeing of those around me.

When I have a little bit of free time, I like to go hiking in the Wicklow mountains. A few jellies and lots of water will keep me happy for the days spent outdoors.

When the weather outside is frightful…..I quickly put on shoes and go climbing walls at Inchicore. Although that has brought upon a few minor injuries and my doctor doesn’t approve, there is nothing I like more that reaching the top every few minutes of my day.

I first came across Peninsula through the Employee Assistance Programme, the service provided for a small firm where I worked.
