Term 4, Week 5 Wednesday, 14th November, 2018
Dear Parents/Carers,
Thank you so much for your support last Friday night at our ‘Spring Bounce’. It was so great to see families and the community enjoy the night. Thanks to our amazing P&C Committee for all of the hard work that went on behind the scenes to make the night possible. They spent hours putting together the event and it supports all students within the school. Why not make the time to join in and help out. The P&C meets on the last Wednesday of every month at 7pm in the Administration Building. Everyone is welcome.
This week we have celebrated ‘Wellbeing Week’ for Term 4. This is a new initiative for 2018 and has been a wonderful way to continue to build a calm and collegial atmosphere within the school. We have pampered staff and students this week with no homework, no meetings, drumming sessions, Zumba sessions, a ‘River Study’ for Stage 2, and ‘The Day of Notables’ for Stage 3. Unfortunately the K-2 Bike Day had to be postponed due to the weather but we look forward to that happening shortly. Wellbeing Week is about ensuring that everyone learns how to look after themselves and support their health both physical and mental. Mrs Cummings is the driving force behind the organisation of the event, so thank you!
Thanks also to the teachers of Year 5 and 6 for all of your hard work to get the ‘Day of Notables’ presentations ready for tomorrow. I am so excited to see the work done by each group researching famous people who have changed our world. The day will kick off with presentations to family at 9:20am in classrooms, followed by the chance to look at all of these presentations in the VTS and a shared BBQ lunch.
Have a fabulous week.
Regards,
Catherine Briggs
Sport Report
Once again a huge pat on the back to both Emma Wood and Blake Sandry for their efforts at the State Athletics Carnival. It is fantastic to have the two of you representing Mulyan at such a high level. Your abilities will certainly be missed next year, but I hope you have given our 2019 students something to aspire to.
Well done to our Todd Woodbridge Cup team who travelled to Canowindra recently. They played excellent tennis earning an equal 4th spot with last years state

champions. The conditions were less than perfect. Rodger Federer would have struggled to make a 1st serve in that kind of weather. So to stand in it all day and still produce some great results is really a top effort.
The infants athletics carnival is all wrapped up for the year. It was great to see the enthusiasm from all students involved. I have since tallied up the results for age level champions and they will be announced at the next infants assembly.
Lastly, one more pat on the back to Blake Sandry. He is officially the second fastest person here at Mulyan Public School. These were the placings to the race that stops a school….
1st - Mr Ryan
2nd - Blake Sandry
3rd - Daylight
Any future challengers will be accepted.

Stage 2 River Study
Stage 2 had a wonderful day enjoying Nature Classroom activities yesterday at The Lachlan River. A big thankyou to Trudy Refshauge and Jayden Gunn from The Local Landcare for running these activities for us. We looked at river health, discussed the variety of animals, plants and bugs that rely on the river and talked about how we can care for the Lachlan River.
Wellbeing Week
Mulyan students and staff are enjoying Wellbeing Week this week.
Zumba with Mrs Waters was well attended yesterday at lunch time and so much fun. Drumming workshops with Simone Gough for some of our Yrs 3 – 6 student has been lots of fun also. We are making the most of a week of relaxation and mindfulness activities and hope that you also benefit from this week at home and spend some time looking after you.
