Opening lecture

Since 2007 the „Remembrance and Future”Center inWrocław, Poland, runs an oralhistoryprogramdocumentingandresearchingthehistoryofpostwarinhabitantsoftheterritoriesadjoinedtoPolandasaconsequenceoftheIIworldwar.Developingtheoralhistorymethodologyfromoneside,wearealsolookingforwaystomakethispostwarhistorypublicandtotellitfromthebiographicalperspectiveofthewitnessestohistory.During the lecturewewillpresentourexperience inusingoral sourcesatexhibitions,publicationsandothertypesofprojectsintheareaofpublichistoryandwewillalsosharesomegoodpracticesworkedoutoverthelastdecadeinthatmatter.

Anja Bellmann

AnjaBellmannworksasacuratorofhistorical-politicaleducationattheBerlinWallMemorial.Herfocusiscurrentlyonprogramsforimmigrantsandrefugees.PreviouslysheworkedasamuseumeducatorfortheGermanHistoricalMuseumBerlinwheresheestablishedanEarlyChildhoodEducationprogramwhichwontheICOM-CECABestPracticeAward2014.AnjaBellmannstudiedEuropeanHistoryandPublicHistory,andwasascientifictraineeattheBerlinWallFoundation.ShehasbeenworkingasaneducatorandexhibitioncuratorformuseumsandmemorialsinBerlinandBrandenburgsince2009.

David Gonzalez Vazquez

DavidGonzálezVázquezisahistorian,adegreedgraduateoftheUniversityofBarcelona,holdsaMaster’sdegreeinCulturalTourismfromtheUniversityofGironaandisapre-doctoral researcher at theUniversity of Barcelona.His field of study is the spaces ofmemoryanditsrelationwithtourism,aswellasthetheorizationofdifferentpatrimonialmodelsamongtheseplaces.HeisamemberoftheDidacticsofHeritageResearchGroupfromUniversityofBarcelonaandWorksattheEducationserviceoftheMUME(MuseuMemorialdel’Exili),inLaJonquera,Spain.

Dora Komnenovic

DoraKomnenovićisaPhDcandidateatJustusLiebigUniversity,Giessen,andafreelancemuseum docent currently based in Berlin, Germany. She holds a BA in InternationalRelationsandDiplomacy(TriesteUniversity,2010)andanMAinInterdisciplinaryResearchandStudiesonEasternEurope(BolognaUniversity,2012).Dora’sresearchinterestsrevolvearoundEasternEuropeanhistoryandpolitics,withaspecialfocusonthesocialistperiodandtheensuingtransition(s).Herdissertationprojectdealswithpost-Yugoslavmemoryandethno-culturalexclusionisminthe1990s.

JohanaMusálkováisaDPhilcandidateinSocialandCulturalAnthropologyattheUniversityofOxford.HerresearchfocusesonthedynamicrelationshipbetweencollectivememoryandcollectiveidentityintheSilesianborderlands.Payingspecialattentiontothepoliticsofdisplacement,‘difficultheritage’andunsettlingmemories,shestudieshowsocialactorsnegotiatethepresentandconstructthepast.Aftercompletingethnographicfieldworkbetween Hlučíns and Opavians, she has returned to Oxford and recently submittedherdissertation.Atthemoment,whilewaitingforhervivavoice,sheisapostdoctoralresearchfellowatTheOxfordResearchCentreintheHumanities(TORCH)co-organisingPost-War:Commemoration,Reconstruction,Reconciliationproject.SheisalsoaTeachingAssistantatRefugeeStudiesCentreunderDepartmentof InternationalDevelopment,OxfordUniversity.

Tatjana Milovanovic

Tatjanahas10yearsofexperienceinthefieldsofinterculturaldialogue,reconciliationandyouthactivismandholdsaLawdegreefromtheUniversityofEastSarajevo.Heractiveengagementinthecivilsocietysectorwasfocusedaroundyouthhealthandreproductiverights and shewas the youngest Trainer of PeerEducation inBiH. In addition to herpositionwithPCRC,Tatjana isalsoanAssociateEditor forBalkanDiskurs–aregionalmultimedia platform aimed at promoting inclusion and intercultural dialogue by sharing diversecontentandgivingyouththeskillsnecessarytobecomefuturemediamakers.TatjanawasalsoamemberofthefirstYouthAdvisoryGroupoftheOSCEMissiontoBiHandtheUnitedNationsPopulationFund(UNFPA).

Pjerin Mirdita

PjerinMirdita,born inShkodër,Albania.Finishedelementaryandhighschool inbirthtown.StudiedatUniversityofFlorence,andUniversityofShkodër.Graduated instoryandgeographicalstudiesandfinishedaMasterDegreeinHistory.ActuallyworkingashistoryexpertatSiteofWitnessandMemoryinShkodër,thefirstplaceofmemoryinAlbania,dedicatedtothecollectivememoryofourcommunistpast.Involvedindifferenteducationalprogramswithschools,andalsoteachinghistoryinacatholichighschool.Curatorofsomeexpositionsintothemuseumsofthecityandauthorofdifferentbooklets,connectedwiththedailyworkatthememorial.

Sonia Serradeil

Sonia Serradeil-Font studied History at the University of Perpignan and obtained amaster’sdegree.ShehasbeenteachingHistoryandGeographysince1997.Eversincethebeginningofherteachingcareer,shehasbeenpartofEuropeanprojects.ShetookupherappointmentattheAristideMaillolhighschoolin2002,becomingpartofaverydynamicgroupalreadyinvolvedinseveralEuropeanprojectssuchasComenius.Atthesametime,SoniaSerradeil-FontstartedpedagogicalprojectsonthethemeoftheinternmentcampofRivesaltes, conducting reflectionsonhow to teachabout theMemory.Since2003,SoniahasbeenpartofthepedagogicalcommissionofwhathasbecometheMemorialofRivesaltes.

Malgosia Wosinska

Cultural Anthropologist. Psychotraumatologist. Ph.D. Candidate, Faculty of History attheAdamMickiewiczUniversity inPoznan,Poland (ABD).Her research interestscoverawiderangeof interrelateddisciplines fromCriticalHolocaustStudies throughto theAnthropologyofGenocideandForensicStudies.Sheisalecturer(coursesinGenocideTheory, Holocaust and Genocide Studies, Museum Studies) at the University AdamMickiewiczUniversityinPoznan/PL,NortheasternUniversityBoston/USA,King’sCollegeHalifax/CA.Shealsoworkswiththewitnessesoftraumaticevents.Tobeabletodososhe has completed courses in general psychotraumatology and is continuing to learn in aspecialistpsychoanalytictrainingprogramme.
