Sustainable social and economic development, improving the living standards and a better environment for citizen will be the main goals. (Department of Housing, Planning and Local Government, 2019) The 2 princiapl piece of legislation which govern the planning and development in Ireland are the Planning and Development act of 2000 and the Planning and Development regulation of 2001 (The Irish planning system, 2019) . (See References in the Bibliography) The development plan and the local area plans have to develop an overall core strategy, a statement of writting and a development objective area. Each planning authority is required to publish a notice every 4 years and a new plan every 6 years. The public participation is essential (Council, 2019) (Department of Housing, Planning and Local Government, 2019) (The Irish planning system, 2019). The Regional development plan concerne the Regional minister for housing, planning community and the local government related to the 3 Regional assembly (RSES) (Department of Housing, Planning and Local Government, 2019). A Broad Pleanala is also involded (Pleanala.ie, 2019). Finally the National Plannign framework is necessary to develop a high level strategy of planning and development for country over the next 20 years (Npf.ie, 2019).
