Main Menu

There are four save slots available. You may start anew one or overwrite a previous saved game.

Allows you to continue from one of four previouslycreated save slots.

♦ LEGO® City Undercover uses an autosavefunction. Data in the chosen save slot may beoverwritten as you play the game and cannot berestored.

Disguise Swapping

Chase McCain goes undercover in a variety ofdifferent disguises that give him a wide range ofexciting abilities. Tapping either or will allowChase to quickly switch to any of his availabledisguises. Alternatively, you can press and hold to reveal the Disguise Wheel and use to selectthe required disguise.

Equipment

Chase McCain must rely on many different types ofequipment if he is going to be successful atfighting crime in LEGO® City. Each one of Chase’sdisguise types comes with its own equipment andabilities. Use them to discover all of LEGO® City'ssecrets.

Free Running

Free Running is a new addition to the LEGO®series that allows Chase to move fluidly anddynamically through LEGO® City, tackling

Vehicle Call-In Points

Vehicle Call-In Points are found throughoutLEGO® City. Once built and activated, they candeliver any unlocked and purchased vehiclesimmediately to your location. Before building aVehicle Call-In Point, ensure that you have enoughbricks. Once built, activate the controlpanel and follow the communicator's on-screeninstructions. You can obtain more vehicles byfinding Vehicle Tokens.

Disguise Booths

Disguise Booths are located throughout LEGO®City. Once built, entering one allows Chase toswitch to any of the available disguises purchasedat Ellie's desk in the Police Station. You can obtainmore disguises by finding Disguise Tokens.

Extra Vehicle Related Features

Special police powers give Chase the authority totake control of any vehicle in the game. To takecontrol of a vehicle, approach it and press whenprompted.

Chase's police whistle allows him to alert drivers tohis presence. Press to stop any vehicle in itstracks.

Extra Aerial-Related Features

These work in a similar way to Vehicle Call-inPoints. Use your bricks to build the Helipad. Oncebuilt, access the control panel to have anyunlocked style of helicopter delivered straight toyou.

Need to exit a helicopter in a hurry? Why not useone of the many Crash Mats located throughoutLEGO® City. Press when hovering directly abovea Crash Mat to free fall your way safely to it.

Communicator Features

Chase must rely on his colleagues and contacts tosafely navigate his way through LEGO® City. Whenthe video call icon flashes on the Wii U GamePadtouch screen, tap it to see and hear what theyhave to tell you.

Use the communicator to guide your way throughthe complex network of streets in LEGO® City.

Touch and drag the map to view areas of LEGO®City you may not have fully explored.

Tap and hold anywhere on the map to instantly seta waypoint to that location. Follow the on-maproute or the Green Stud route that appears on theroad. Note that Green Studs will only appear whenin a vehicle.

Once upgraded, the scanner is a very usefulcommunicator feature. Tap the scanner icon onthe Wii U GamePad touch screen, and then scanall around you with the communicator to discoverthe location of hidden secrets such as SuperBricks. Find Red Bricks in the game to unlockadditional functionality, such as the ability to scanfor Vehicle and Disguise Tokens, Challenges andRaces. Once located, lock the location of the itemon to your map by holding .

The Wii U GamePad functions as Chase's policecommunicator. It has a variety of useful featuresthat are unlocked as you make progress in thegame.

Collectables

LEGO® Studs are scattered throughout the game.Collect them and spend them on vehicles,character disguises, Gold Bricks and Red Brickcheats in the Police Station. Collect enough in alevel and you will achieve LEGO® City Hero statusearning you a Gold Brick in the process.

Every smashable LEGO® object within the gamecontains bricks. Break apart the LEGO® object torelease them. Collect enough bricks and you'll beable to build special Super Build structures aroundthe city.

These are similar to bricks but have a much highervalue than the standard bricks. The more of theseyou collect, the quicker you can build SuperBuilds. 2x2 Super Bricks are worth 1,000 bricksand 4x2 Super Bricks are worth 10,000 bricks.

There are 40 special Red Bricks to collectscattered throughout LEGO® City which can beused to unlock hidden bonuses. Once you havecollected and purchased them in the PoliceStation, go to EXTRAS in the pause menu to turnthem on or off.

Find the many hidden Gold Bricks and get them asrewards as you progress through the game.Collect them all for a special reward.

Super Builds

Super Builds are special LEGO® objects that needto be built in order to complete certain missions orcreate special structures in the city. Once you'vecollected enough bricks, approach the Super Buildsite and follow the on-screen prompts.

Challenges

Special challenges can be found throughoutLEGO® City. Obtain the correct disguise and findthe relevant marker to activate one. The more youcomplete, the more Gold Bricks you earn.

Run along rooftop courses, while collecting clocksfor extra time, to reach the end before the timeruns out.

Drive through a series of checkpoints and reachthe goal before the time runs out. Each checkpointadds extra time to your clock.

Combat

The combat in LEGO® City Undercover is a brandnew system that remains as simple to control asother LEGO® titles, with the added ability to fluidlyswitch your focus between opponents and defendagainst multiple attackers.

Press to perform a simple move which will putyour opponent on the ground.

Press to block attacks. Once Chase has hadcombat training he can counter attacks and putopponents on the ground. Watch out for the on-screen button prompts!

Press to throw opponents. Once Chase has hadsome advanced combat training you will be able tograb opponents and throw them wherever youwant. Press when close to an opponent to grabthem and then throw them by tapping . You canthrow them into other opponents or LEGO®objects of your choosing by holding down andmoving the target over them.

Free Play vs. Story Mode

With a range of disguises unlocked, the time hascome to revisit the Story Mode missions in FreePlay. Replay all 15 missions in Free Play usingyour disguises to easily capture hiddencollectables that you couldn't get to before. You'llneed all the ability types in order to collecteverything on all of the levels.

To access any level in Free Play mode, travel backto the entrance of the level (e.g. the door to theBank) and walk over the hotspot. You can alsoaccess them via the map on the Wii U GamePadtouch screen. Simply scroll to the location of thelevel, tap the icon and follow the instructions.

Posting to Miiverse

This game allows you to share your gameexperiences with players from all over the world viaNintendo Network™.
