Full Blog Post http://marczewski.me.uk/2012/11/30/flow-and-satisfaction/ Taking Csíkszentmihályi’s Flow and Amy Jo Kim's Player Journey, I thought it would be fun to see what happens if you map certain types of game journey over a Flow graph. This is then expanded to see how this can be applied to employee satisfaction. With luck there are some lessons to be learned about what makes games and processes engaging and even help people in their thoughts about gamification.

Can we learn anything from this?

The key is to make sure the skill and challenge levels are heading in the right direction.

•Boring games or processes will not keep you engaged (duh!)•Frustrating work processes will not keep you engaged•However, Frustrating games that are well made, can keep you coming back for more•The journey can dip in and out of frustration and boredom
