The press mode selection allows only the horizontal cylinder to move. If expander/reducermode is selected, vice opening / closure is allowed too.

7. TOOLING SELECTION

It is possible to effect a working cycle in “assist “ mode or in “manual” mode. The “assist” mode allows a complete working cycle according to the selected machineoperation mode ( press or expander/reducer ) by simply pressing at the same time the twoSTART 1 e START 2 buttons, placed on the side of the control panel. (ref. par. 2).The working cycle can be interrupted by releasing one of the two buttons.

The manual operation mode allows the individual movement of each function with fullrespect of the safety standards.

1. TOOL FORWARD: press forward button + START 2 (before FORWARD BUTTON)

2. TOOL RETURN: press return button + START 1 (before RETURN BUTTON)

3. VICE CLOSURE: press close button + START 1 + START 2 (before CLOSE BUTTON)

4. VICE OPENING: press open button + START 1 + START 2 (before OPEN BUTTON)

NB:A complete vice opening and closure under manual mode, can require moreoperations.

NOTE: Use cylinder tool in “manual” operation mode only for position referencesduring programming and not for job cycles.

9. HOW TO SET UP PARAMETERS

Before starting a work cycle, it is necessary to set the work parameters , the “zeroreference” and “material reference” with the tool.

The zero reference is the starting point from which the tool starts and stops at the end ofa job cycle.

The material zero is the point in which the tool comes into contact with the material .

The penetration level is the distance along which the tool penetrates into the material.

The machine is pre-set by the factory in order that tool moves from “zero reference” to“material zero” with high speed, and in order to penetrate into the material with low speedaccording to the programmed level. When the penetration level is reached, the tool goesback to zero reference with high speed.

Select working programme and bring the cylinder to the desired position

as zero reference. Such position is stored by pressing the buttons +(press first RETURN BUTTON).The flashing display confirms position memorisation.

The Material zero point is effected by bringing the tool to the required position and + by

pressing buttons + (FORWARD BUTTON FIRST) for memorisation.

The figure on the right hand of the display should show “000.0” to confirm memorisationhas taken place.

In order to set penetration level, press twice menu / esc button until thefollowing is displayed as evidenced in fig. 5:

By using + buttons set the desired value and confirm bypressing ENTER.

Carry out a working cycle with no material to verify that set parameters are correct. Thepenetration level must always be negative. The first value on the right side of the display (Fig. 6) indicates the current position of thetool in relation to zero reference.

10. WORKING SPEED SELECTION

By default the machine is set in order to carry out the working cycle with low speed duringpenetration/ folding phase. However, it is possible to vary such set up so as that tool can move with high speed evenduring penetration/folding phase. Therefore it is important to press the two

buttons +

The high or low speed set up is displayed by the message FAST or SLOW as showed in fig.7 and 8:

11. HOW TO ZERO JOB CYCLE COUNTER

The machine is provided with a job cycle counter indicating the number of work cycleseffected. The registered values are displayed on the right side at the end of each cycle (fig.9).

When a new working cycle is started it is possible to zerothe counter by pressing

12. HOW TO CHANGE HOLDING JAWS

In order to change the type of vice jaws, proceed in the following manner:

1. Close vice2. Select CHANGE for the holding jaws through position ON and extract key for extra

safety.3. Open vice until it is in position and no motion is possible.4. Change vice jaws .5. Insert key into selector and set OFF position.6. Start working cycle.

When holding jaws are changed, a particular configuration of the electrical circuit blockstool movement and allows the vice to move until change position is reached. After suchchange, any motion of the machine is not enabled until CHANGE selector is set on OFFposition.

13. PRESSURE REGULATION

It is possible to regulate the tool and vice pressure through the pressure regulators of themachine.

On the left side of the electrical panel there is a pressure regulator for the cylinder tool. Onthe right side there is the pressure regulator for the vice.

It is possible to regulate the pressure regulations through the appropriate knobs tooptimise work process.
