Burkitt’s lymphoma: case reportA woman was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of
43 years, and underwent left modified radical mastectomyfor stage II intraductal carcinoma. She also receivedsix courses of cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, thiotepa,methotrexate and fluorouracil [dosages not stated] from1990 to 1991 as adjuvant therapy. Fifteen years later, at theage of 58 years, a pelvic mass was found on routinegynaecologic examination. After a total abdominalhysterectomy with bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy,appendectomy and abdominopelvic lymph nodedissection, she was diagnosed with Burkitt’s lymphoma.Treatment consisted of low-dose vincristine, rituximab,high-dose methotrexate with folinic acid rescue andintrathecal methotrexate.
