Published by LaGrange American Legion Post 215

    October & November 2016

Fall is here and the Post is doing very well. So well in fact, we have had to add new freezer space for the additional food sales and hire a kitchen assistant to help with the increased workload. Our newest employee’s name is Erika White and she is doing a great job. Make sure you stop by and say hello to her.Every Sunday we will be having an all-day Wing Special. This special is for in-house only and cannot be a “to go” order. Of course you can always get some to go at full price. So come on in and watch your favorite sports team, eat a few wings and enjoy your favorite beverage with a few friends.

Just a reminder that our breakfasts are on the 4th Sunday each month (with the exception of November and December). I know with the changes in some of the church service schedules it may be hard to get to the Post between 8-11 a.m., but do your best. Since the service times have changed our numbers have dropped. We will be advertising on the radio and hope that helps but if the numbers don’t increase we will likely discontinue monthly breakfast.Keep in mind we would like to see some more folks at our monthly meetings. These meetings generally last only 20 minutes followed by a free light meal. If you feel lucky, spend a dollar on the 50/50 drawing and you can use your ticket for a free drink. This is your Legion so take an hour and come join us, we would love to have you. As always, keep our uniformed military in your thoughts. They are the best of us all.

ALR NewsHello Everyone,I would like to take this time to thank everyone for your support. One of our Legion Riders, Alex Patten, has a wonderful little

Corn School is October 4-8 and our raffle is 1st $200, 2nd $100, 3rd a $50 Gift Card from Miller’s Super Valu. We still have Patriot Bracelets for sale at the bar for $4. After Corn School we will be raf-fling off a quilt.

The Children’s Christmas Party is December 11, names need to be in by December 2. Children’s Christmas Party sheet is at bottom of newsletter.

Our meetings are October 25 and November 8. Come join us in our new Auxiliary Room at 7 p.m. God bless family, friends, and veterans.

    Shirley Helmuth President

Greetings, Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the beginning of

    autumn.

We had a good turnout for our membership drive, putting us over 50% membership for next year already. If you haven’t already paid your dues, or know anyone interested in joining, contact my-self or Craig Connelly.

With Corn School fast approaching, there are many ways avail-able to show your support. We will have our pork burger stand up-town, in the same location as in the past. We are having our annual Corn School Steak Fry on October 8. This year it will benefit the Blue Star Mothers organization. This is an organization of mothers, grandmothers, aunts, sisters, and female relatives of active duty service members. They will be on hand to help out and answer any questions anyone may have, so come out and show support as they help our active duty troops in many ways.In addition to all that, we will still be having our monthly sec-ond Friday Steak Frys. The past several months we have had excel-lent turnouts, so let’s keep it going.

    Thank You, Greg Gulley
