Plenipotentiary responsibilities regarding Program for Roma Community in Poland in
Małopolska Region.
Main tasks performed by Plenipotentiary of Voivod of Malopolska for National and Ethnic Minorities:
1. Coordination in Malopolska policies regarding minorities issues
2. Undertake activities regarding respecting minorities and human rights, naturalization and resistance against discrimination of people
3. Undertake activities regarding respecting minorities rights and people using regional dialect;
4. Coordination in Malopolska issues regarding Roma Minority especially coordination of the Program for the Roma Community in Poland.

Małopolska Region.
• Plenipotentiary is qualified to participate in Joint Commission for National and Ethnic Minorities issues meetings as well as in their Subcommittees.
• Commission is an expert and advisory body to the Prime Minister.
• Commission operates under a different sub-commission and one of it is dedicated to the Roma community
• Roma Team for the Joint Commission for National and Minorities, is an important forum for Roma to discuss the program, solve problems, exchange ideas and best practices.

The tasks of the Joint Commission for National and Minorities in particular:- expressing opinions on the implementation of the rights and needs of minorities, including an assessment of how to implement those rights and to formulate proposals for action to ensure the realization of the rights and needs of minorities,- giving opinions of programs for creating conditions conducive to the maintenance and development of the cultural identity of minorities,- giving opinions on draft laws on minorities,

• opinions on the amount and rules for allocation of resources in the state budget to support activities aimed at protection, preservation and development of the cultural identity of minorities and the preservation and development of groups of regional language
• taking action to combat discrimination against persons belonging to minorities.
Program for the Roma Community in Poland
In 2001-2003 in the province of Malopolska was implemented a pilot program for the Roma community
Resolution of the Council of Ministers of 19 August 2003 established a multiannual Program for the Roma community in Poland
Program for the Roma Community in Poland
The main objective of the Programme is to achieve full participation in life of the Roma civil society and bridge the gap between this group from the rest of society
Particularly important is to achieve levels of compensation in such areas as education, employment, health, hygiene, housing conditions, the ability of Roma in the functioning of civil society.
The program is therefore primarily aimed at equal opportunities of persons belonging to the Roma community and to help maintain identity and culture of Roma.
