Principal’s Message

It is a matter of great pride that the primary wing of KV NO-2 AFS ADAMPUR is coming out with the CMP News letter. Today, the teaching is not confined only to the classrooms, but it has been extended to the whole world. According to the National Curriculum Framework 2005, it is very important to bridge the classroom teaching with the world outside the educational institution. Under CMP we are trying our best to give our students a practical knowledge, discourage rote learning and make our students a productive and revolutionary global citizen. I congratulate all the Primary teachers for their constructive efforts and wish them best of luck for the near future.

Sr. Most PRT’s Message

It gives me immense pleasure that our Vidyalaya is bringing out this Newsletter as a part of CMP. Every sapling has the potential to grow into a Red wood tree. School gives a way to life and Primary Education sows the seeds. Primary Education plays a very crucial role in shaping a child’s personality. Through CMP, the focus has shifted from effective teaching to ‘inspired learning’. To attain this and lay a strong and solid foundation at the primary level, CMP is implemented to ensure the qualitative improvement of Primary Education. This issue of CMP Newsletter is an effort to showcase activities undertaken by this Vidyalaya in this respect. It also reflects the creativity of tiny tots.

I owe my thanks to our worthy Principal, Mr. Anil Kumar Dhiman for his guidance and valuable suggestions and a word of appreciation to the editor Ms. Bindya for her sincere efforts. I convey my best wishes to all the dedicated Primary staff members and the students of Primary section.

Ms. Megha Deep Sr. Most PRT

Editor’s Message

Thank you in advance for taking the time to read our school CMP newsletter. It is indeed a great honour to be the News Letter editor for CMP. The goal of each issue is to inform you of the key strategies that are unfolding at the school, their impact on teaching and learning, and to keep you connected with events past, present and future. In this issue we will recount the various projects and activities held throughout the year under CMP in which all the teachers were actively involved. It gives us immense pleasure to provide you with the details of events and activities carried out at the vidyalaya for making our foundation i.e. primary, stronger. It is within this publication that we often review and reminisce upon the annual performance of primary students. Over the following pages you will get a snapshot of activities and some of the key philosophies related to teaching and learning in the classes , as well as, all the work that has been taking place on sports fields, resource room, library, music and art corners which gives exposure for all- round development of students. I hope that you will enjoy the following pages, with the prospect of our student’s voice coming through.

A huge thanks to one and all, who contributed whole heartedly, without which there wouldn’t have been this news letter issue. Last but not the least I would like to thank Mr. Anil Kumar Dhiman, Principal KV No-2 AFS ADAMPUR ,an inspiration and driving force behind all the work.

Report on School Readiness ProgrammeSchool readiness programme has been basically designed to prepare the child for school to help him/her develop a feeling of affinity, comfort so that once he starts coming to school he should not think that school is being forced upon him. Infact, his school should be his second home. It should be a place where he loves to come and where he enjoys every moment. Children of class I are therefore prepared mentally and physically for the school through play way method. It is our constant endeavour to provide our children a stress-free environment so that they do not lose out the joys of childhood, at the same time be receptive to education. To quote Aristotle, “It is by education I learn to do by choice, what other men do by constraint of fear”The school readiness programme carried out in KV is nothing but get ready for school. The child who leaves the home and enters the school should find a comfortable new environment,to fill the gap between home and school. The teacher here becomes a parent to comfort the child. The objectives of this programme are almost successfully undertaken such as:1.Overcoming the shyness2.Enable the child to accept this school3.Feel comfort in new environment4.Learn to mix with other students5.Make friends6.Build confidence, observation, self expansion7.Become familiar with surroundings8. Children were examined thoroughly and students who need further treatment were referred for further examination.

Innovation and Experimentation

A workshop was conducted in KV No.1 Patiala for strengthening Primary Education headed by honourable Deputy Commissioner RO Chandigarh, Sh Ranvir Singh. Our vidyalaya took necessary action by identifying the slow bloomers in each class who were not efficient to read and write Hindi and English. PTM for these students were conducted, NOCs for taking their ward’s classes on working Saturday’s were taken from them for sending and receiving their wards for these classes. All the language teachers of both Hindi and English took an initiative and experimented to take these students during morning assembly along with working Saturdays for improving their language proficiency. We identified 112 students from III-V in the beginning who required remedial help. After long efforts we were able to promote 11 students of class III and 2 from Class V who succeeded to attain the MLL in language proficiency.
