3. Duration of Ph.D. Programme : 3 to 6 years; however, the extension for a period of maximum one year may be granted on the recommendation of the RAC and with the approval of the RRC.
4. How to apply? : Candidates are required to download the online application form (Appendix-5) available at the university website: http://www.sgbau.ac.in/Ordinance-No.1-2016-About-Ph.D.-.pdf and fill it with all the relevant information. Submit the application form to the respective department on or before 1st December of each year. The Candidate shall have to appear for interview before the Research Advisory Committee (RAC) of the college for discussing proposed research project/ topic / area of doctoral degree. RC shall display the list of selected candidates along with the allocated supervisors who shall be acting as internal evaluators for the Ph.D. thesis. The selected candidate shall confirm the admission by paying the prescribed fees and depositing essential documents on or before 31st December of the year.

l The application received after the last (University) date of admission may be entertained only after the permission from the University and is subject to the availability of Seats for that particular course.
l Student once admitted to a regular course of study shall not be permitted to appear for any other examination simultaneously.
l The applicant should apply in the prescribed Application form and the prospectus can be purchased from the Students' Consumer Stores.l The following documents (duly attested Photostat copies) must accompany the prescribed application form

l Student who is newly enrolled in S.G.B. Amravati University will have to pay the University Enrolment Fee at the time of admission.
l A student will have to pay the requisite fees at the time of admission.
l The name of the student may be struck off from the college roll if he/ she fails to pay the fees before the date declared by the college. The readmission after this will be the discretion of the Principal/ College Admission Committee.
l The changes in fee schedules brought about by S.G.B. Amravati University/ Govt. of Maharashtra State / College will be applicable and binding on the students.
l The students eligible for the various concessions will have to fill in relevant concession forms before the due dates fixed by the college/ Govt./ University. The student should insist on a receipt after having submitted the concession forms to the college office.
l If a student who has sought the confirmed admission in one faculty wants to change over to another faculty available in the college, he/ she can do by paying the complete fees prescribed for that another faculty opted by the student. The fees paid earlier by him/ her will remain non-refundable. The change of faculties will only occur in the event of availability of seats.
l The students must obtain a receipt for every important documents submitted in the office such as- Admission Form, EBC and other concession Form, Scholarship Form and University Examination Form
l Identity Card will be made available after the confirmation of admission from the 'Students' Consumer Stores'.
l After having confirmed admission, it is obligatory for the student to pay full term fees. In case of student leaves this college or stops coming to the college for any reason, he/ she is liable to pay full fees. Without paying the fees in full, documents will not be issued to him.
N. B. – Admission to M.B.A./ M.C.A. programmes can be sought through CET conducted by the Department of Technical Education, Govt. of Maharashtra.

l As per the University rules, the students having an attendance below 75% will not be permitted to appear for University Examination
l Students will not miss classes while in the college & will not leave the college campus during the college hours without prior permission of
the principal/ Head of the department.
l Ragging is strictly prohibited.
l All students should be properly and neatly dressed with prescribed college uniform on all working days except Wednesdays. On
Wednesdays color dress other than T-Shirts & Jeans can be used.
l Smoking and/ or Gutkha chewing are strictly prohibited. Offenders shall be liable to face legal action.
l Students are prohibited from organizing any kind of programme or forming associations/ organizations without the prior permission of the
Principal.
l The S.G.B. Amravati University rules apply to all students/ examinees admitted to affiliated courses. Use of unfair means in the college &
University Examinations is strictly prohibited.
l Every student should have Identity Card & wear in prominently visible way in the campus
l Scholarship, EBC & other concession forms must be submitted immediately after the notice circulated or displayed on Notice Board.
l Students are advised to see the concerned information regularly on the Notice Board.
l Performance of the students will be monitored throughout the year & will be reported to their parents if necessary.The college maintains
strict discipline & expects rules to be followed by every student.

Prohibition of Ragging Act According to Maharashtra Prohibition of Ragging Act,. No. 33, 15th May 1999, Ragging is strictly prohibited. Ragging means a display of disorderly conduct, the doing of any act which causes or is likely to cause physical or psychological harm or raise the apprehension or fear or shame or embarrassment in a student in any educational institute and includes-
i) Teasing, abusing, threatening or playing practical jokes on, or causing hurt to any student; or
ii) Asking a student to do any act or to perform something which a student will not, in the ordinary course, willingly do. Ragging within or outside of any educational institute is prohibited.
Penalty for Ragging: Whoever directly or indirectly commits, participates in, abets or propagates ragging within or outside any educational institution shall on conviction, be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to two years and shall also be liable to fine which may extend to ten thousand rupees.
Dismissal of students: Any student convicted of an offence under section 4 of ragging Act No. 33 shall be dismissed from the educational institution and such a student shall not be admitted in any other educational institution for a period if five years from the date of order of such dismissal.
Suspension of student: If the student is found guilty in such cases his / her admission shall be terminated from the institution.

Co-curricular and Extra-Curricular Activities
l College Examination: Besides the University Examinations, Unit Tests twice in an academic year and Terminal Examinations will be conducted as mentioned in the Academic Calendar 2010-21. The student remaining absent for the examinations or securing less than 25% marks shall be fined.
l Vidya Bharti GEMS: Vidya Bharti GEMS under the Chairmanship of Mrs. Manjari R. Shekhawat is a society regulated by V.B.S.M. & managed by the student fraternity to conduct various student - centric, Co-curricular & Extra-curricular activities. It aims at grooming & all-round development of the students enrolled with the institution. The Vidya Bharti GEMS plans and organizes various activities on the campus and off the campus. It also covers extension activities and provides opportunities to the students to interact with the society. It encompasses facets viz. sensitization issues, gender equity, environmental awareness, cultural programs, inculcation of social values and their commitment to the society, etc. To execute the goals of Vidya Bharti GEMS, following committees are formed which function throughtout the academic year - Club Malhar (Performing Arts), Young Minds (Literary Events), Social Outreach and Enabling Centre, Pratibha Women’s Studies Centre (PWSC), Enviro Club, Club Sadhna ( Holistic Development ), Club Manthan (Skill Development) and Club Shourya (Games and Sports).

l Young Minds : Young minds organizes literary events like elocution, quiz, debate, related seminars, etc.
l Social Outreach & Enabling Centre: SOEC conducts various social activities like NGOs visits, adoption of village, blind school, etc.
l pollution control, energy, soil & water conservations, etc. It organizes programme of sensitization, tree plantation, etc.
l Pratibha Women's Studies Centre: The programmes related to health, hygiene, empowerment of woman, personality development, etc.

l Games and Sports : The college has a vast cultivated vast play field with Spectators' Gallery. Coaching for various games such as Ball-badminton, Softball, Hockey, Football, Korfball, Cricket & Kabaddi etc. is imparted to students. The students may participate in various sports competitions only after being selected by the College Selection Committee. Indoor games facilities for Table Tennis, Badminton, Carrom, Chess etc. are available.
l NCC: (Teacher In-charge: , Associated NCC Officer (Female) Capt. Dr. Mithilesh Rathore and (Male) C/T Mr. A.P. Ingole : The college has NCC Unit. Students with special talent and distinctions can get the benefit of the State Govt. and Chief Minister's Scholarship Schemes. The cadet who has completed graduation and passed 'C' Certificate Examination with at least Grade 'B' may be exempted from written examination for the Officer's Post in the Army, conducted by the Service Selection Board. Admission to NCC Unit should be confirmed in the month of July.
l Industrial Visits & Educational Tours: Educational Tours to visit the Academic reputed Institutions / Industries/ Scientific Institution/ Historical Locations are organized.

It is compulsory for the students to be a part of the unit for two years and to attend one special camp to be eligible for Incentive Marks.
