    ootnotes have two significant functions: providing

    #i#liographic information linked to *uotations in the #od! of theassignment and as a space to include important information

    which would otherwise disrupt the Iow of the argument

    irstl! in addition to the reference for !our source in the main

    #od! of the assignment !ou must now use a footnote to

    acknowledge !our direct or indirect use of the source or

    e>ample !ou ma! refer to the title of a #ook in a sentence in

    the main #od! of the essa! and then give a full reference in a

    footnote

    ootnote num#ers should appear directl! at the end of the

    *uotation or te>t to which the! refer ootnotes should appear

    at the #ottom of the page to which the! refer #ut their

    num#ering should form a se*uence
