Current and Forthcoming Activities

Chapter Meetings during 2018 • We organized Chapter Technical Meetings, almost each month of 2018, starting from

January, in Wroclaw, Warsaw, Krakow, Gdansk and other cities

• Two times yearly we have AdCom Chapter Meeting, the first organized on the occasion of MRW 2018, May 14-17, 2018, Poznan, Poland

• The Chapter activities are regularly (twice a year) presented to the larger audience at the Committee of Microwave and Radiolocation Meetings of the KEiT PAN


OTHER CHAPTER ACTIVITIES



• The 8th MICROWAVE & RADAR WEEK is the continuation of the series of very successful conferences in Warsaw (2004), Krakow (2006), Wroclaw (2008), Vilnius (2010), Warsaw (2012), Gdańsk (2014), and in Krakow (2016).

• The 8th Microwave and Radar Week MRW-2018 was held in Poznan, Poland.

• The conference comprises parallel conferences: MIKON 2018 – 22nd International Microwave and Radar Conference (15-17 May 2018) 1st Baltic URSI Symposium supported by National Committees of the Baltic Countries (15-17 May 2018)

• Chapter c0-sponsores the Polish flag International Conference, and • on this ocassion, Organizers the MSc Student Diploma Competitions

• The 8th MICROWAVE & RADAR WEEK was the successful event, with: • 319 papers accepted (220 – MIKON; 99- Baltic URSI) • 53 oral, 2 poster, and 3 plenary sessions; 4 tutorial workshops; 6 invited presentations • 375 participants (132 from abroad – 39 countries of the world) • 14 companies and research institutions attended the accompanying Exhibition

• IEEE Joint Chapter organizes „The Best MSc Thesis Award” • the biannual competition for the Best MSc written in the area of microwaves, antenna

and radiolocation • is a founder of prizes • First Prize 1300 PLN and MIKON Conference Fee 270 EUR (with the Paper accepted) • Second Prize 800 PLN • Third Prize 300 PLN and MIKON Conference Fee 270 EUR (with the Paper accepted) • Two Distiction Diploma

• During the MRW 2018, Chapter hosted the Region-8 MTT-S „Chapters Chairs Meeting”


Chapter Members Activities

• European Conference on Antennas and Propagation, run under the auspices of the EurAAP European Association on Antennas and Propagation.

• EuCAP has now become one of the flagship conferences on antennas and propagation, attracting researchers from across the world. With approximately 1500 coming attendees, it is one of the worlwide largest conferences of its type.

• • We are very honored that Krakow has been chosen

to be the venue to host the conference this year. First time in Poland.

X Signal Processing Symposium 2019-08-17 to 19, City: Cracow, Country: Poland

Key Words: signal processing, radar, student, young scientists, Description: The main goal of the symposium is to provide a forum for students, researchers and scientists to present their latest findings, new trends in science and technology, and to exchange ideas during technical and evening sessions. The idea of Signal Processing Symposium was conceived in 2003 during 12th IEEE-SPIE Symposium on Advanced Electronics. Two years later, upon a decision of the Radiolocation and Digital Signal Processing Students' Research Group of Warsaw University of Technology, the first Signal Processing Symposium was organized independently of the SPIE Symposium. Every second year thereafter, SPS – renamed to SPSympo in 2019 – gathers at each edition over 100 participants from around the world.
