Dear Parents, We are winding the year down very fast now and almost to the finish line! It really seemed like we were in a holding pattern as the days went by recently and now we are suddenly in a flurry to wrap things up and head out for the summer. I can now give you a few more details about that last week regarding the drop off and pick up of supplies. We have decided that the easiest way to facilitate this is to have you come up by your normal carpool assignments. We are designating specific days for this to make it easier but if you have a conflict, please let us know. Staff will be available to retrieve your child’s supplies and give back anything left in the building from your child’s desk or locker. Pick up will be each of those days between 9:00 a.m. and noon. We ask that you please have your carpool number prominantly displayed as you would normally do so to pick up your child(ren). No, we will not be collecting children that day, so no drop offs :) Due to the size of Carpool B, there are two days available and we will designate which families (alphabetically) will come on which day based on numbers. Stay tuned for more details as to how to bag up things for safety reasons. Please note that you will not exit your car as you come by and we ask that you be ready to pop your trunk. Items to be collected that day in order for your family to be “checked out” and good to go are for the summer are as follows: library books, textbook, borrowed technology including chromebooks, athletic uniforms, etc. All 6th grade families will turn in chromebooks over the summer to be properly “cleaned” and updated for the fall when we will re-check them out again for 7th grade.

Tuesday, May 26th Carpool A Families Wednesday, May 27th Carpool B Families Thursday, May 28th ECC Carpool Families Friday, May 29th Carpool B Families

We are still looking for some amazing talent show acts and we know we have a ton of talent at SLCS! Please see above if your child would like to perform in this special 2020 version of this popular SLCS end of year event. Last week I gave you some ideas of the many different scenarios we are exploring for next year from being all back in our classrooms to a hybrid with remote learning and face to face. I just want to thank all of you again for how beautifully you have handled this very difficult last quarter. The comments on our weekly check-ins about how supportive the teachers have been are truly touching and we are here for you! God bless, Suzanne Barto

Congratulations to our newest little Saints baby,   Emilia Lucia,   born to our very own Marisa Vela,

today on the Feast of Our Lady of Fatima!.

It is hard to believe that we are down to the last days of school! We know it has been challenging in many different ways and pray that you all stay well! The counselors will be checking emails through the end of the school year, so if you need any assistance from us, please continue to reach out. IMPORTANT - Please be sure your children are up to date on their assignments so that their grades will be ready to average later next week for report cards. Also, please look for our Friday Newsletters from Mrs. Nickel and Mrs. Schurman attached to the parent check-in on May 15th. We will each have a video for the students to watch to help bring closure to the end of this school year. Mrs. Schurman will also share the answers to last Friday’s brain teasers/energizers. Here is the information for parents on the free Love and Logic parent presentations to help you during these unprecedented times: “Love and Logic" is offering their Parenting Online class for free. In their effort to support families, they have extended the offer until May 15. Once you have made an account, you have three months to use the resource. https://www.loveandlogic.com/products/love-and-logic-parenting-online We know you are looking forward to some time away from electronics this summer! We hope you have a great fun filled summer!

So if you sing, play an instrument, dance, juggle, tell jokes, do magic tricks, ride a unicycle, tumble or have any special entertaining talent, we want your videos! Remember, we love unique acts. 8th grade, share your talents with us one more time. Talent entries are open for grades 2nd - 8th grade.

Please make sure the video lasts no longer than 2 minutes and 30 seconds (no exceptions) and you send us a submission of your most polished performance. So, make sure this is your best presentation and you are wearing your performance best! All entries are due May 15th by 4:00pm. Submit your video HERE. We look forward to sharing all of the wonderful talents St. Laurence students have to offer.

So far, our daily Mass attendance is about 100 people and everyone is wearing masks and safe-distancing. Tonight, we bring back the 6:30 pm Mass (confession at 5:30 pm). On Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, Mass is at noon, with confession immediately following. SUNDAY MASS Cardinal DiNardo emphasized that the obligation to attend Sunday Mass remains suspended. Currently, our plan is to reopen for Sunday Mass the weekend of May 23-24. For the foreseeable future, we will continue to record and post Mass for those who must remain home.
