The mill vent gases can be taken through the O-Sepa separatorwith either system design, thus eliminating one collector and fan.

This is the sim pler system . It contains lessequipm ent and few er drives.

The separator fan handles clean gaswhich reduces m aintenance andallows for a higher efficiencyfan design.

The dust loadingis higher, but of

a coarser size,which reducesdust collectionproblem s.

This system givesthe m axim um aircooling or m axim umsystem tem perature forcontrolling product quality.

Cost SavingsThe im proved separator efficiency results in less finem aterial returning to the m ill. This reduces the spe-cific power consum ption of the m ill for a given finess.

Increased system capacitySystem capacity is m axim ized through the com bi-nation of a superior grinding efficiency and bettersize distribution.

Low m aintenanceJet abrasion, im pact, and friction wear have all beenreduced by design. The standard O -Sepa separatorincorporates a circulating lubrication system whichensures long bearing life.

H igh cooling capability A superior cooling capability - due to the ability of allclassifying air to com e from am bient - reduces the chanceof ball coating and pack set in silos.

Reduced capital costDue to its com pact design and sim ple circuit, theO -Sepaseparator can be applied in a variety of system swhich fit any process requirem ent or existing condition.

Stable operationSystem optim ization is achieved through stable processconditions. This stability is created through sim ple sys-tem control and precise, uniform separation.

Better product qualityThe results of superior efficiency are evident throughincreased cem ent strength and a reduced am ount ofcoarse m aterial present in the product. Air & Product To

Predict circulation factor.

Determ ine expected system production and feed rate to separator.

Pick the separator size (from the chart below) that has rated feed andproduction which are greater than those expected. If separator willproduce several types of cem ents, use m axim um feed and production.

The 0-Sepa separator properlyclassifies a higher proportion

of feed m aterials.

The Trom p curve is a plot of the probability of agiven size of particle in the separator feed that willbe returned to the m ill. Thus better separation isindicated by higher probabilities for coarsem aterial, and lower probabilities for fine m aterial.

The Trom p curve is an effective tool w henevaluating separator perform ance. Calculationsare based on separator feed, rejects, and product

sam ples. The top side control, which can bedeterm ined from the curve, indicates if the seal isoperating correctly. Also, the am ount of bypass andthe extent of the fines’ tail can be determ ined. These param eters along w ith the separator inletloading give an accurate depiction of theseparator’s perform ance in the circuit.
