History
The original prospect was staked in 1962 to encompass showings
uncovered by road building. In 1965, ~imberline Mines of
Calgary, Alberta drove a 60 foot adit on a quartz vein but lost
it due to cross-faulting. Cross-trenchinq in 1965 revealed 300'
of vein, which was offset 60 feet. Rockland Mining of Vancouver
did several 25' exploratory diamond drill holes in 1966-67, but
encountered poor core recovery. In 1980-81 Alto Exploration of
Vancouver drove a 10' x 10' cross cut adit 80 feet below the ori-
ginal workings but failed to reach the vein. Further work by the
owner, in the fall of 1981, managed to locate the vein and war-
rent two smelter shipments of 14.0 and 16.68 short dry tons grad-
ing 0.368 oz/T gold, 6.25 oz/T silver and 3.8% lead, and 0.412
oz/T gold 7.1 oz/T silver and 4% lead respectively. Recent work
on the property has confirmed the economic potential of the show-
I ings and has warrented a work program.
The 1984 work program on the Jumbo Group consisted of detailed
geological mapping and geochemical sampling of the showing area
and heavy sediment geochemistry, prospecting and soil sampling of
the surrounding area. A total of 81 soil, 8 heavy sediment and
25 rock chip samples were taken between the 16th of October,
1983, and the 12th of June, 1984. Because of the storage pro-
blems however, 60 soils were not analyzed. In conjunction with
sampling, 1/3 km2 were geologically mapped at a scale of 1:1000
and 3 km2 were prospected for potential extensions of the minera-
lized zone. In order to facilitate detailed mapping, approxima-
tely 3 km of road was also surveyed.
The following is a list of the claims and the specific nature of
the work performed on each:

required 1 0 g portions to be fused with 1 0 mg of gold-free silver
metal. The fusion was then cupelled and the resulting silver bead
parted with dilute nitric acid and treated with aqua regia. The
remaining salts were then dissolved in dilute FICl and analyzed
for gold via atomic absorption spectometer with a 5 ppb detection
limit.
Channel samples taken in June, 1 9 8 4 , were fire assayed for both
gold and silver. In this process, 0.5 assay ton sub samples are
fused in litharqe, carbonate and silicious fluxes. The iead but-
ton containing the precious metals is then cupelled in a muffle
furnace. The combined Ag & Au is then weighed on a microbalance,
parted, annealed and again weighed as Au. The difference in the
two weighinqs is the Ag. Both Au and Ag values are reported in
oz/T with a 0 . 0 0 3 oz/T detection limit.
In order to deliniate potential gold and silver bearing creeks, a
total of 8 2kg heavy sediment samples were extracted at key
points on seven creeks draining the group. These samples were
submitted for heavy mineral analysis at Chemex Labs where they
floated in Tetrabromoethene to isolate minerals with a specific
qravity greater than 2.95 f 0.1 g/cm3. This fraction was then
crushed to 1 0 0 mesh and geochemically analyzed for gold and sil-
ver as described for soils.

GEOLOGICAL SURVEY
Regional Geology
The property is situated well within the lower cretaceous Nelson
Ratholith, which consists of porphyritic and non-porphyritic
granites, granodiorites and quartz diorites. Within this unit
are small volcanic and sedimentary bodies from the older Triassic
Slocan Group and the lower Jurrassic Rossland Formation. Only
the Nelson granitic rocks are present on the Jumbo Claim block.
Local Geoloav
The main showings within the Jumbo Claim block were mapped at a
scale of 1 : 1000. Control for mapping was obtained by use of a
250 m N 14" E base line and compass traverses along the logginq
roads (Map 1). The two main adits were mapped at a scale of
1:500. Control For this was obtained by taping and compass bear-
inqs (Map 2).
Three major intrusive types were encountered and are described as
follows:
1. Medium to coarse leucocratic granite (locally aplitic), com-
posed of 1-5% mafics, 20-40% quartz and 40-708 feldspars. A
pegmatite (Ip) of similar composition usually occurs without
mafics but in some places coarse biotite mica is present.
This report may not be reproduced in whole or in part without written permission
- F] GOLDEN PORPHYRITE LTD. 7
2. A coarse grained massive non-porphyritic granodiorite, com-
posed of 20% mafics (mainly mica), 10-205 quartz and 50-70%
feldspars (both orthocl.ase and pZagioclase). Evidence of
porphyritic granodiorite does occur in places.
3. Fine to medium grained, melanocratic, slightly porphyritic
diorite, composed of 40-50% mafics (mainly biotite, but also
hornblende).
The relationships between these intrusives are found at stations
T-1 and T-24. Here unit 3 is cut by Unit 2 and fragments of rJnit
3 are clearly seen surrounded by Unit 2 material. Sharp contacts
occur in all cases.
Unit 1 appears to cut Unit 2 but in this case both sharp and more
gradual contacts are found. 1p material is seen to cut both
units 2 and 3 and seems to be closely related to 1. There,
therefore, appears to be a general increase in quartz and felsics
from the older to younger units and the respective decrease in
mafics. This suggests a gradually evolving intrusive body at
depth.
80% of the area mapped consists o f Unit 2 with most of the 2/3
contacts occurring close to the major fault zones (possible
relationships?).
Considerable alteration of various grades was found over the area
mapped. The types recognised are as follows going from the weak-
est to the most int-ense:
A. Regional average propyllization - This weak alteration
covers most of the area mapped and is typified by minor
chloride and epidote formation. This alteration type is not
- This report may not be reproduced in whole or in part without written permission
- 1x1 GOLDEN PORPHYRITE LTD. - 8
important with respect to the location of mineralization and
was, therefore, not mapped.
B . Intense propyllization - This alteration is typified by the
breakdown of feldspars, hornblende and mica forming chloride
and epidote. There is also minor pyritization of mafics.
C. Weak high pH alteration - his alteration is typified by
the sericitization of the feldspars, illite formation and
pyritization. Visible quartz crystals are clearly seen as
the other less resistive minerals breakdown.
D . tow pH alteration - This package can be recognised by
intense sericitization resulting in the formation of white
clays and the breakdown and removal of quartz by hydrofluric
fluids.
These alteration types are complicated further by weathering,
which is inore apparent with the increase in intensity of the
alteration. For mapping purposes, two alteration groups were
used, namely R/C and D. These were combined on Map 1 to show the
major alteration trend.
Three major N-S fault zones occur A, B, and C. Fault zone A
consists of a N.W.-S.E. 100-150 m long area of heavily altered
Unit 2, with minor outcrops of Units 1 and 3. The alteration
consists of low pH sericitization of the granodiorite which, due
to weathering, forms white clays and gossanous gravels. The ex-
tent to which this zone continues to the NE and SW is not clearly
seen. The actual trend of the faults is also difficult to deter-
mine because of the intense alteration and weathering.

PROSPECTING
A brief inspection of known mineralization on the Jumbo claim was
carried out prior to further investigation of the surrounding
area. Samples J400RC0001 - J400RC0008 were taken from clay and
clay/limonite exposures in road cuts along a north-south running
road above and to the west of the two adits on the main showing.
These samples are described herein.
A traverse was conducted to the south-west and south to cover
possible extensions, along strike, of the known mineralization.
Outcrop, however, was obscured by snow cover at higher eleva-
tions. Except for the southern portion of this traverse area,
outcrop was limited to exposures along road cuts and creek banks.
Outcrops, where found, consisted of coarse to medium grained aci-
dic intrusives (qranodiorite - granite). One exposure, on the
banks of an easterly flowing creek near the common border of
Jumbo and Reresoff 2 at 5,300' elevation, consisted of quartz
rich pegmatite?. Another exposure in a road cut south of the
preceeding consisted of mafic, quartz poor, medium to coarse
grained diorite.
Two samples were taken from a road cut exposure west and 800'
above the showing area. The first, J4OORCO009, was of a 20 cm
shear (285"/8O0 S ) with limonite alteration, cutting medium
grained granodiorite. The second, J400RC0010, was of a 10 cm
pegmatite exposed 7 m north of the previous sample.

GOLDEN PORPHYRITE LTD. 12
A traverse was also carried out on the slopes north of Enterprise
Creek in Beresoff 1 to check Eor possible strike extensions of
the alteration zones to the north. Outcrop exposure above 4,800'
was very good because of steep cliffs. The rock was a medium-
coarse grained granodiorite. No mineralization or alteration was
found during this traverse, and thus no samples were taken.

4. Soil sampling, as restrictive as it was, failed to locate any
anomalies below the cliffs in Reresoff 1. A more extensive
proqram is however warrented on this and other sections of
the group.
5 . Heavy sediment sampling was unsuccessful in finding appre-
ciable amounts of gold or silver in any of the creeks drain-
ing the property. This could in part be due to the limited
nature of exposed mineralization on the property.
