TRITYA SOPAN TESTING CAMP - 2017 FROM 10.07.2017 TO 12.07.2017

As per direction from the KVS Region Office, Dehradun, a three day Tritya Sopan Testing Camp was organized at kendriya Vidyalaya FRI, Dehradun w.e.f 10-07-2017 to 12-07-2017 in which (141) Scouts and (98) Guides reported along with 22 Escorts and (10) Officials.

The meeting of Officials and Escorts was held in the Principals’ Chamber, in which certain guidelines for the smooth functioning of the Camp were given to all the persons present there by Venue Director ,Dr Charu Sharma Principal, Kendriya Vidyalaya FRI Dehradun. After the dinner the lights were off.

The first day began with rouse at 05:00 AM. Thereafter, the Scouts and Guides were divided into 12 Patrols (Scout ) and 10 Patrols (Guide). For recognition of each scout and Guide they were allotted Chest Numbers. Formal Inauguration took place with Flag Break at 09:30 AM under the Leadership of Ms. Tara Rana LOC(Guide). The learned Official gave a warm welcome to the Chief Guest Mr Vinod Kumar (Assistant Commissioner ),Mr D S Negi , District Chief Commissioner (Scout) &Dr.Charu Sharma , Principal KV FRI Dehradun presented the ‘Bal vriksha’ to the Chief Guest and welcomed them.

The first session began with an oral test based on the syllabus of Pravesh such as Sign, Salute, Motto, Law & Promise. After a short break the Scouts and Guides assembled again for the tests of Pratham Sopan, which were followed by oral tests conducted in different bases as per schedule.

In the evening, a meeting of the Officials was organized under the leadership of Mr. Prashant Singh LOC(Scout) and Ms. Tara Rana LOC (Guide) in which they advised to keep transparency in the tests for the improvement in the standard of the Scouts & Guides. They also suggested to prepare Vidyalaya wise Merit List of the Scouts & Guides to arrange Exhibition on the last day. The day ended with the Camp Fire followed by dinner.

The second day began with BP Exercise Patrol wise under the Guidance of their escorts monitored by the Officials. The Scouts & Guides practiced them with great interest and enthusiasm. It was really a wonderful session for the mental and physical growth. Next, inspection of Patrols was held. All the activities such as turn out, lay out, proper wearing of Uniform, Checking of Cleanliness, Gadgets etc. were minutely observed. The Flag-Break was led by GUIDES . Then written tests for Pravesh,Prathan.Dwitiya Sopan such as Compass, Knotting, Lashing, First-Aid 1

and checking of Log-Books & Proficiency Badges as per APRO II & III were conducted. It was followed by oral tests/Practicals in different bases. By Base system of Scouting and Guiding Movement the Scouts & Guides learnt a lot. The Records of the Scouts & Guides were Checked simultaneously by LOCs and the Officials. The Camp fire was the last item of the day.

The Grand Camp Fire was organized by the participants on a short notice under the leadership of Mr Balbir Singh& Ms Rekha Bawa at 07:30 PM. The Camp Fire was declared open by the Chief Guest Dr Charu Sharm (Principal KV FRI). Mr. Prashant Singh LOC (Scout) read out the report of the Camp, stressing upon the need of Scouting Movement in the present scenario. Thereafter a very interesting and inspiring Cultural Program consisting of group songs, folk dances, skits etc. were presented by the Scouts & Guides. The Program ended with a vote of thanks by Mr. Prashant Singh LOC(S).

The last day of the Camp began with All Faith Prayer. It was followed by Flag Break under the Leadership of Mr. Prashant Singh LOC(Scout). A final Talk was conducted for the Scouts & Guides in which all their doubts were clarified and they were informed about their further trainings and preparations for the Rajya Puraskar Tests.A scout and a guide presented their view about the camp.

The Valedictory Function was marked by the Welcome and presentation of Scarf to the Chief Guest Dr Charu Sharma, Venue Director, Principal, KV FRI, Dehradun. In her Speech she applauded them for their performance and urged them to follow the Scouting & Guiding in true spirit. The Programme ended with a vote of thanks by Mr Prashant Singh LOC(S).He expressed her gratitude towards Dr Charu Sharma, Principal KV FRI, Dehradun and Venue Director for making all necessary arrangements to make the camp a grand success. She also extended hearty thanks towards the staff members of KV FRI, Dehradun for performing their duties with warm hospitality. District Commissioner (G), District Commissioner (S), LOCs expressed their sincere gratefulness to the Honorable Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner of Dehradun Region for providing such an opportunity to conduct this Program at KV FRI, Dehradun. The camp was indeed a great success.
