which

pump
packages,
chemical
injection
skids,
cranes
and
compressor
skids.
This
Recornmended
Practice
(RP)

designed
to
cover
small
and
medium
sízed
packages
essentially
where
electrical
energy
is
used
as
part
of the
package
process,
This covers
both
onshore
and
offshore
units but very
large
packages
where
a significant
range of
electrical
equipment
is
included
should
be accompaníed
by
a
suitably
comprehensive
project
specification.
Electronic,
pneumatic
or
hydraulic
instrumentation
provided
on
the
package
for
the
purposes
of
rnonitoring
or
controlling
a
process
are
not covered
by
this

CONDITIONS
6.1
All
materials
used
for
electrical
installation shall
be
new and in
all
respects
suitable
for
continuous
operation
under
the environmental
conditions.
6.2
Reliability
of
all
equipment
to
perform
continuously
in
the
service
conditions
specified is
essential.
Such
reliability
of
all
components
shall be
substantiated
by
a
similar component
in
operational
use
successfully
elsewhere.
For
verification
purposes
a list of
users
indicating contact address
shall
be
provided.
6.3 All
constructional
material
shall be
of
high
quality
and
as
specified.
Prototype
or
unproven equipment
not
having
well
established
record of
satisfactory
service
shall
not
be
considered.

7.1
The
vendor shall
state
when
tendering
either
that his
proposed
equipment
complies
without
exception
to the
requirements
of this
document,
or
that it
complies
subject
to
certain
exceptions.
A
detailed
description
of
any
exception
together
with
reasons,
cross
referenced
to the
relevant
section
of
this
document
shall be
given
by
the vendor.

alternative

shall still

the
intent
of this

Such
proposal
shall
form
the
part
of
tender

bY KOC.

Where
vendor s
standards
are

for
by
the
data

vendor shall
be
detailed
at the
time
of
tendering.

The
vendor
shall
complete
the
data
sheets
where
required
for
inclusion
in
his
tender
and
shall include
a detailed
exception
list as
per
7.1
above
for
KOC
review.

Data
sheets
may
be
supplied
by
KOC
for
vendor
completion
at
the
tender
stage,
which
may
include
any
major
item
of
equipment
on
the
package.

The

shall
be suitable
for

operation

the
specified
environment

Kuwait.

equipment
identification labels
shall have
black characters
on white
background
engraved laminated
plastic
('Trafolyte'
or equivalent). The
lettering
on
the
name
plates and labels shall be engraved,
embossed
or
otherwise formed so as
to be
permanent.
Labels
shall
be fixed
by
non-
corrodible screws
or
rivets.
The
means
of
attachment
shall
ensure that
it
does
not
affect
the certification
or
lP
rating of
the
enclosure.
Labels
fixed by
adhesives are
not
acceptable.
7.9
Fuses shall be labelled
with their
current
ratings. lf the
colour
coded
wiring
to fuses
connected
to the ma¡n
circuit is not
visible
from
the
front
of
the
fuses,
the
fuses
shall
also
be
labelled with
their
phase
colour.

The
electrical
apparatus
shall be located
in such
a
manner
that
it
can
be
easily maintained when
in
service.
7.11
Where
possible
the
vendor
shall
arrange
for sufficient space
within
the
package
for
removable
covers,
panel
doors etc., that may
have
to
be
removed
or
opened
during
maintenance.
Where
the
space is
required
outside
the
package
boundaries
the vendor shall indicate
the
extent
of
clear
space
required
considering
due
allowance
for
any
specialist
equipment.

Where
the
packaged
equipment
is
to
be
installed in hazardous
area,
the
area
classification
shall be
defined
on
the
data
sheets.
The
vendor
shall
ensure
that
all
electrical
equipment
and
installations
forming
part
of
the
package
meet the
requirements of
relevant
parts
of
KOC-E-004.
7.19
The
vendor
shall
provide details at
the time
of
tendering,
of
all
electrical
equipment,
systems
together
with
the appropriate
certification
in
English
language.
