Z U M B AZUMBA is a Latin inspired dance fitness class that incorporates Latin and International music and

dance movements to create an exciting and effective fitness workout. The class combines fast and slow

rhythms that tone and sculpt the body to deliver an aerobic / cardio and body toning workout.

Participants have so much fun that they do not realize that they are exercising. The basic step formula

makes it easy for participants, WOMEN OR MEN ( you do not need a partner ) of any fitness level,

background or age to start ZUMBA right away. ZUMBA is a fun, easy and exciting workout.

Everyone loves the holi-days, but I personally enjoythem because I get to watch

all of the movies that are upfor awards.These films, often held

by studios until the holi-days until awards season,are usually the cream of thecrop. The Curious Case ofBenjamin Button, directed

by David Fincher (FightClub, Zodiac), is stirringup a great deal of Oscarbuzz and has already beennominated for five GoldenGlobes. These nomina-tions are deserved, and Iwouldnt be surprised if thefilm walked away with afew gold statuettes beforespringtime.

Its a very peculiar film.I say this not in a nega-

tive way; it is delightfullystrange.

The entire time, howev-er, it also feels somewhatfamiliar. It is comfortableand warm, and I couldntquite put my finger on it.

I kept thinking I feel

like I felt when I first sawForrest Gump.

This mans life, whichwe watch from beginning toend, is so captivating, whim-sical, lovely, and tragic. Thefilm was three hours long,and when the credits rolledI breathed a sigh: did it haveto be over?

It turns out my ForrestGump ins t inc t wasn tunfounded.

The film is written byEric Roth (Munich), the art-ful story teller who broughtus Gump, and every one ofhis beloved lines.

Life is like a box ofchocolate, you never knowwhat youre gonna get.

While Benjamin isntslow, and doesnt spout amillion southern sayings,the film does follow thesame thread.

You never know whatscomin for ya charactersconstantly chime.

The film is in no way acarbon copy of Gump; it ismore its brother. It is a per-fect compliment to it, and atestament to Roths talent as

a storyteller and writer.The film also harkens

some of the great Americannovels of the 1930s.

If your mind goes straightto Gatsby, youre bang on.Roths script is based offof a short story by F. ScottFitzgerald.

Benjamin is a boy bornold, his father so horrifiedby the wrinkled, deformedbaby his wife delivers that

he leaves the child on thedoorstep of an old folkshome, run by a young blackwoman named Queenie(Taraji P. Henson).

She raises the boy as herown, thinking that his lifewill soon end.

Instead, his health gradu-ally improves, and he final-ly figures out that he isntgetting older, but gettingyounger.

When he meets a younggirl named Daisy, he spendshis life writing her lettersfrom his many travels, andvisiting her from time totime. Their love is whatkeeps him going, as hismind becomes older and

his body becomes younger,seemingly robbing him ofthe many experiences wetake for granted.

The acting in this film isphenomenal.

Brad Pitt spends themajority of the film ladenwith prosthetics and make-up to make him look older,and he still manages todeliver an unparalleled per-formance. You are watching

Benjamin, not Brad Pitt.Although, as he gets

younger the heartthrob Pittstarts to shine through, it ismore breathtaking than dis-

tracting.Cate Blanchett is stun-

ning as the older Daisy, andalso ages gracefully.

The film is largely aboutmortality, and while thatmay seem a depressing topicfor many, it is one of themost uplifting and inspir-ing films Ive seen in a verylong time. In fact, Im offto see it again: I hope youwill too.
