Concept and Stakeholders
What We Do
IMPRESS aims to improve the preparedness of emergency medical ser-
vices (ambulance dispatch centers, hospitals, volunteer communities
etc) in numerous ways, including planning for all-hazards, increasing
surge capacity, tracking the availability of hospital beds and other re-
sources using electronic systems, and developing systems that are in-
teroperable with other response teams. The IMPRESS scope is to pro-
vide health system with preparedness and response capabilities through
guidelines and tools where ultimately, the routine use of these capabili-
ties will improve their performance in case of large disasters.
