The approach was exploring the desert potentials for the creation of new desert habitats. Moving towards a solar era was the main idea behind this project, located near the deserts of Aswan . The residential cluster was designed with means of low tech sustainable and solar applications, such as utilizing the existent material for the creation of the house modules (limestone), designing around daylight, using the passive design techniques and using thermal mass (earth shelter), by imbedding the house into the mountain. the project uses plug in architecture but with respect to the natural topography of the land.The whole design was guided by the natural daylight solar analysis.The house functioned as flexible modules that could be enlarged or decreased in number upon user’s preference.The main idea was to succeed in fusing the strong heritage of the place with technology
