All space activities are delivered by instructors

chosen from the Euro Space Society by the Belgian

Ministry for Education.

At school you learn about the sky and the universe. You

study mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology. Still, you

would like to know more and ge t to apply this knowledge.

The EURO SPACE CENTER offers you and your classmates

SPACE CLASSES that turn you into genius in the mysteries

of our sky.

Two different kinds of programmes are available for

your class :

EUROSPACECENTERSPACEC

LASSES

PART - TIMEDURATION : FROM 3 TO 8 DAYS

This programme lasts for 4 hours a day.

Teachers accompanying the group take care of

trainees for the rest of the day (half a school

day). This second part of the day can be used to

visit the sightseeing in the area or to focus on

educational space activities.The groups can use the premises as classrooms.

FULL - TIMEDURATION : FROM 2 TO 5 DAYS

This is a complete space programme, including

7 hours of activities per day.

ARE FREE TO CHOOSE YOUR FAVOURITE

PRACTICAL

INFORMATION The content of the programme depends on the duration

of the stay and the age of the participants ;

Participants sleep in spacious 8-bed rooms with shower

and bathroom ;

Teachers accompanying the group take care of trainees

after space activities ;

Each participant gets a Space Camp T-shirt and a diploma

signed by Dirk Frimout, a Belgian astronaut ;

Upon request (additional charge) : cultural visits andguided tours can be organised in the region where visitors

can enjoy Belgiums natural and historical heritage.

ASTRONOMYBECOME AN EXPERT IN ASTRONOMY

Are you fascinated by our solar system, the life beyond it,

exoplanets, the life of stars? Come at the EURO SPACE

CENTER and find out more !

Become a famous astronomer and learn how to :

design and use a sky map ;

interpret the outlook of the current months sky (the

Moon, the planets, the visible constellations, particular

phenomena) ;

make your own telescope you can take it home and

observe the sky at night (weather pe rmitting) ;

design and use a sundial and an astrolabe (weather

permitting) ;

observe the sky during the day: the sun and its spots

(weather permitting).

ROCKETSBECOME A BUDDING SPACE ENGINEER

Learn everything about the Ariane launcher, the principles

of propulsion and stability of rockets, powder engines, how

to get into space

Use your knowledge : On your marks, get set, launch !

Construction and launch of water rockets, micro rockets,

two-level rockets, mini rockets with integrated electronic

sensors, thrust test bench ;

Conception of a system to bring your rocket back ;

Study of the trajectories ;

Final computer check before the launch.

ASTRONAUTTHE ASTRONAUTS TRAINING CAMP

You experience the simulations every astronaut does

during the training :

onboard the US Space Shuttle you participate in the

lift-off, the orbiting and the satellite launch. Then you

dock to the International Space Station, return into the

atmosphere and eventually land ;

you practise on the multi-axis chair, the moon walk

(Moon gravity simulator), the 5DF chair (chair with 5 of

freedom), the Manned Manoeuvring Unit (MMU), zero

gravity wall you can take part in scientific workshops such as building

and launching of a micro - rocket and integration of a

satellite in a clean room ;

learn more about our solar system, the history of space

exploration, the International Space Station (ISS),

everyday life and work of astronauts and much more

thanks to the movies and presentations shown at

the Centre.

A SPACE ODYSSEYDURATION : FROM 2 TO 5h30

INDOOR

Exhibition on Space and Space Conquest from the Big Bang to

the most futuristic projects of space exploration. The Temple

of Planets takes you on a journey through the Solar System.

The Columbus Lab and the International Space Station will no

longer hold secrets for you. You will go onboard a full - scale

mock US space shuttle and you will discover its cockpit and

cargo bay. At the end of the visit, you will enjoy the dynamic

cinema with a crazy race on an asteroid !

OUTDOOR

A series of activities to escape into space. Visitors willdiscover scale models that took part in space conquest,

including an Ariane 4 launcher and its ancestor, a Europa 2

rocket. Discover the giant solar system, the plant maze

representing our galaxy, the Milky Way and the 6 km space

walk at the rhythm of the legends of Greco-Roman

mythology illustrated through sculptures.

ISS MISSION

A SPACE ODYSSEY : educational tour ;

The multi-axis chair : this chair will make you feel

disoriented, as it could happen in space ;

The Moonwalk chair : it simulates the Moons gravity.

ARIA NE MISSI ON

The ISS MISSION (except the outdoor activities) plus :

The rotating chair ;

Micro - rocket workshop : build and launch your own

micro - rocket.

MARS MISSION ROBOTICS FOR A DAY

sandstorm on the red planet, the solar panel of our robot

and IT workshops, you will be able to get planet Mars

running again.

The EURO SPACE CENTER is the only centre of its kind

in Europe as it combines both leisure and educational

activities. The EURO SPACE CENTER is located at the heart
