Measurement of bone matrix mineralization

• Bone biopsy samples from the FREEDOM bone biopsy substudy were used to assess bone matrix

mineralization in subjects receiving denosumab or placebo for 24 and/or 36 months.

• The novel technique of digitized microradiography1 was used to measure the degree of

mineralization of the bone (DMB) and the heterogeneity of bone mineralization (HI).
