Skin rash in a child: case reportA 6-year-old girl with a mild language delay was
diagnosed with focal epilepsy and began receivingcarbamazepine [route and dosage not stated]. Despite areduction in the frequency of her generalised tonic-clonicseizures and reflex seizures, she subsequently developedan allergic skin rash [duration of treatment to reaction onsetnot stated]. Carbamazepine was discontinued, and herseizures became uncontrolled. Combination therapy withclobazam and phenytoin led to an improvement in bothunprovoked and reflex seizures.Higuchi T, et al.
