Główna Komisja Ścigania Zbrodni przeciwko Narodowi Polskiemu (Main Commission for the Investigation of Crimes against the Polish Nation), was established in 1945 and operated under the Polish Ministry of Justice. The purpose of the Main Commission for the Investigation of German Crimes in Poland was investigating the crimes committed by the Nazis on Polish soil and other occupied countries, and in Germany during the period 1939-1945. The Main Commission collected documentation, conducted investigations and prepared indictments, and publications. The Main Commission prepared investigations of all lawsuits against the Nazis, judged by the Supreme National Tribunal in Poland. Currently the Main Commission is a part of the Instytut Pamięci Narodowej–Komisja Ścigania Zbrodni przeciwko Narodowi Polskiemu (Institute of National Remembrance-Commission for the Prosecution of Crimes against the Polish Nation).

Scope and Content of Collection This collection contains investigation case files concerning labor camps for Jews, the murder of individual Jews, and the mass execution of Jews inside and outside the camps in various districts of the Poznań region. This documentation was collected by the Główna Komisja Ścigania Zbrodni przeciwko Narodowi Polskiemu (Main Commission for the Investigation of Crimes against the Polish Nation). System of Arrangement Records are arranged in the original order of their acquisition from the source archive. February 1941 - 29 March 1942, liquidation of Łęczyca ghetto. After 1 September 1939, Łęczyca Jews were carried into a burning house and stabbed with bayonetts. Burning of an antique sunogogue, an establishment of the ghetto. Hangings in March 1942. Listing of crimes. List of Gestapo members from łęczyca. Unfortunately the investigation did not ascertain who committed the crimes and where the former Gestapo members are presently (1980); therefore the suspension. The materials about the hanging of the ten will be forwarded to other offices for publication. Testimony of Stefan Worobik who was allegedly witness to the murder of some 200 Jews before the liquidation of Łęczyca ghetto. He is asked as to the knowledge of perpetrators (list of names); living family members of the murdered and place of the burial. List of 176 murdered Jews in Żychlin (by profession or trade). Four pages of correspondence concerning the murder of 200 Jews in Żychlin Worobik testifies about locating Jews (300-400) in buildings taken away from Poles and 4,500 in another ghetto. After year and a half the ghetto inhabitants were put on horse wagons and taken in direction of Kutno. He did not hear about any camp resistance. Civilians in yellow uniform called "yellows" were in charge of the ghetto. He does not have any documentation to substantiate his testimony. Notes about the burial place of the murdered in Żychlin during ghetto liquidation. Few names about persons taking part in the liquidation and witnesses to the shooting. Established in January 1942, closed in November 1942; camp inmates all Poles, 2,000. Worked on the river Bzura. After liquidation of camp prisoners moved to Łowicz-Małoszyce. In Polish. Request of information about Małoszyce labor camp where the inmates were Jews from Łódź ghetto. They worked on the regualtion of the river Bzura for the German firm "Karol Merman." when the Jews were deported Soviet POW took their place. In 1942, Polish prisoners, men and women, took their place. Mistreatment of Soviet POWs. Only one person (Jewish) was murdered in the camp. He tried to escape. No name established. Case not persecuted. Correspondence and testimonies. In Polish. 1971. 39 pages. Babichy, community leader, SS Jewish camp established in July 1944, closed in September 1944. Inmates returned to Łódź ghetto. Camp had a physician. 70 persons, all men. Two died and drowned in the river. Poles helped the Jews by throwing potatoes or bread slices over the fence. Correspondence, testimonies, birth certificates. 94 pages. Camp in Ruda Pabianicka Bayer paper factory. October 1939 - June 1940 for Poles and Jews; about 2,000 passed through. Families fed the workers. One person killed during liquidation; remaining transferred to Ragodoszcze camp Sniec. From September 1939 to fall 1941, camp held Polish POWs, later Soviet POWs. 100,000 persons passed through this camp, including Warsaw uprising POWs in 1944. List of 200 people arrested upon denunciation by ethnic Germans in November 1939. Arrested were also the priests for the Ruda Pabianicka parish from Chojno; 50 priests were taken to Radogoszcze to amuse the Germans. The priests marched with heads shaven clean, huge black numbers on white sheets. After release from Radogoszcz they were all sent to Dachau concentratin camp. Correspondence, testimonies, investigation. Lists of priests arrested. 1967. 127 pages. Krołniewice, district Kutno, ghetto established in May 1940; liquidated 15 October 1942. Population 1,100. Worked in neighboring estates, half died. For food, vegetables and bread. During liquidation taken to Ko_o for execution.
