St. Rosary Society will be meeting on March 11, 2017 at 1pm. We will begin with the Rosary and have a short meeting afterwards.

The next Parish Council meeting will be on Monday, March 13 in the cafeteria at 7:30pm.

Our next Parish Food Drive will be held the weekend of March 25-26, 2017 and will be distributed to Father English Community Center.

Eventos Parroquiales

Las Misas para el Miércoles de Ceniza en español son a las 6am y 7:30pm y a las 8am y 5pm en ingles.

Nuestro salón parroquial, que queda en la 181 First Street, se renta los sábados durante el año. Por favor llame o visite la oficina parro-quial para mas información.

La próxima reunión del Consejo Parroquial será el lunes, 13 de marzo a las 7:30pm en la cafetería.

Nuestra próxima Colecta de Comida Parro-quial se llevará a cabo el fin de semana del 25 y 26 de marzo y será distribuido al Father English Centro de Comunidad.

El Grupo de Oración de Sta. María se reúne los martes empezando con la misa de las 7pm hasta las 9pm. Todos están invitados. Tam-bién, la Asamblea de Oración se lleva a cabo todos los primeros domingos a las 3pm.

La Iglesia de la Asunción de María necesita catequistas pa-ra nuestro programa de educa-ción religiosa. Estaremos dan-do el entrenamiento necesario.

ALGUNOS ELEMENTOS PARA LAS CELEBRACIONES DE LA CUARESMA 2017 (A)

Damos inicio a nuestra actividad cuaresmal del año 2017. Ya desde el mismo día del Miércoles de Ceniza, nuestras celebraciones tendrán algunos cambios, con el fin de comenzar a ambientar a la comunidad en la celebración cuaresmal.

Los cambios que tendremos serán los siguientes:

1. La celebración dará inicio en silencio.

2. El celebrante, como el resto de ministros que van a participar de la celebración deben estar en sus lugares 5 minutos antes de la celebración.

3. Durante este momento no debe de estarse ensayando ningún canto, debemos estar en silencio.

4. A la hora de dar inicio a la Eucaristía, el sacerdote se pone de pie y va al frente del altar, en ese momento un proclamador introduce la celebración dando a conocer las intenciones de la celebra-ción. Luego invita a la comunidad a ponerse de rodillas. No tenemos canto de entrada, lo que se va a proclamar es la Antífona de entrada, que eso lo realizará el proclamador de la palabra.

5. Después de la oración colecta, todos toman asiento para escuchar la Palabra.

6. El salmo se hace cantado, ese será el primer canto de la celebración, si no se canta se le puede po-ner un fondo musical.

7. Tendremos algunos cambios en la proclamación de las siguientes lecturas:

El primer Domingo de Cuaresma, la primera lectura tomada del libro del Génesis se va a procla-mar narrada.

El tercer Domingo de Cuaresma, el Evangelio se va a proclamar narrado.

El cuarto Domingo de Cuaresma, el Evangelio se va a proclamar narrado.

El quinto Domingo de Cuaresma, el Evangelio se va a proclamar narrado.

8. La respuesta a las oraciones de los fieles será “Señor ten piedad”, será cantado por el coro, para acompañar al pueblo.

9. El canto de comunión va hacer instrumental. Después de la comunión tendremos un canto de meditación, invitando al pueblo a que participe.

10. Los avisos serán dado por un ministro, mientras el sacerdote se retira a la parte de atrás del templo y desde ahí ofrecer la bendición.

11. No tendremos canto de salida.

ALGUNAS ACTIVIDADES QUE TENDREMOS EN LA CUARESMA

El Miércoles de Ceniza estaremos visitando durante el día a los enfermos para que reciban la ce-niza y la comunión. (Por favor llame a la oficina, si usted esta enfermo y quiere reci-bir una visita.)

Todos los Martes tendremos el Vía Crucis, 6:30pm.

Durante los Lunes de la Cuaresma estaremos ofreciendo el sacramento de reconciliación desde las 7pm.

Tendremos el retiro para la comunidad latina con fecha para decidir.

Tendremos un acto penitencial en Español.

SOME ELEMENTS FOR THE CELEBRATION OF LENT 2017 (A) We begin our Lent activity in 2017. Since the very day of Ash Wednesday, our celebrations will have some changes to start to help the community in the celebration of Lent. The changes will be as follows: 1. The celebration will begin in silence. 2. The celebrant, like all others who will participate in the celebration should be in place 5 minutes before the celebration starts. 3. During this time of waiting, there should not be any rehearsing. We must be silent. 4. At the beginning of the Eucharist, the priest stands up and goes to the altar, and then a person introduces the celebration. They then invite the community to kneel. We have no entrance song. Only the entrance antiphon that will be proclaimed, that will be conducted by a lector. 5. After the opening prayer, all will take their seats to hear the Word of God. 6. The Psalm is sung, that will be the first song of the celebration. 7. We will have some changes in the proclamation of the following readings: The First Sunday of Lent, the Gospel will be proclaimed narrated.

The Third Sunday of Lent, the Gospel will be proclaimed narrated.

The Fourth Sunday of Lent, the Gospel will be proclaimed narrated.

The Fifth Sunday of Lent, the Gospel will be proclaimed narrated. 8. The answer to the prayers of the faithful will be ―Lord have mercy‖ and it will be sung by the choir to accompany the people. 9. The communion song will be instrumental when the community comes up to receive communion. After everyone has received communion, we can sing a song, so that people can participate. 10. A minister will give the announcements while the priest walks to the back of the church and from there he will offer the benediction. 11. There will be no final song. The celebration will end in silence.

SOME ACTIVITIES THAT WE WILL HAVE DURING LENT Every Tuesday we will have the Stations of the Cross at 6:30pm.

Every Monday during Lent, we will be offering the Sacrament of Reconciliation (confession) at 7pm.

We will have a Penance Service.

We will have a retreat for the Spanish Community.

On Ash Wednesday, during the day, we will be visiting the sick people to impose ashes and give them communion. (Please call the office if you wish to be visited.)
