The history of Rzeszow University of Technology goes back to 1951 when The Evening Engineering School was founded.

When the right academic and scientific standards had been reached, steps to change the status of the school were successfully undertaken, creating the first independent Higher Engineering School in 25th of June 1963 on the basis of 153rd ordinance of the Council of Ministers.Rzeszow University of Technology acquired its present status in 1st of October 1974 on the basis of ordinance of the Council of Ministers passed in 19th of September 1974.Rzeszow University of Technology provides higher education at 5 faculties:

Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautics Electrical and Computer Engineering Civil and Environmental Engineering Chemical Engineering Management and Marketing

THE UNIVERSITY OF RZESZÓW was established in 2001 through the merger of the Pedagogical University of Rzeszów, the Maria Curie Skłodowska University, Lublin, Rzeszów branch and the Economics Faculty of the Agricultural Academy of Cracow.

Fifteen years ago our school took a name after a very famous, worldwide known Polish composer, pianist and politician who was also a Prime Minister of the Polish Government – Ignacy Jan Paderewski.
