PROBLEM STATEMENT BSPHCL (BIHAR STATE POWER HOLDING

COMPANY LIMITED), a company responsible for distribution of power in the state of Bihar does not have an online helpline portal for its customers. Due to which the customers face difficulty for filing/lodging complaints as either they have to go to their respective area sub- division or contact them through phone. If the customers have any query or want to request (for a new connection or load enhancement) or even if they want to know the status (of query/complaints) they have no option but to pay a visit to their respective area sub-division which turns out to be a time taking process. The customers also do not have the proper means for making suggestions.

INTRODUCTION

Previously the customers of BSPHCL were facing difficulty in making suggestions, filing complaints, asking queries, etc. Here we have provided an online helpline portal where the customer can file complaints, make suggestions, check status, ask queries, etc which are then conveyed to the AEE (Assistant Electrical engineer) of the customer’s respective Area Sub-Division who then acts accordingly depending upon the demands of the customer. Also the customer can anytime check the current status of his/her query or complaint.

PURPOSE:

SCOPE:• BSPHCL Helpline Portal can be used by the customer

via telephone keypad or by speech recognition after which they can inquire by following IVR (Interactive Voice response) dialogue. This technology which allows a computer to interact with human through the use of voice via keypad is called IVR.

• This portal can be used as an application on mobile phones where the customer will have to dial 1, 2, 3 and 4 for various options like ask query, file complaint, place request and make suggestion respectively.

PRODUCT FUNCTION

•Provides a GUI for the ease of customers.

• Provides an option for filing complaints.

• Provides an option for asking query.

• Provides an option for the customer to put up a request for a new connection or load enhancement.

• Provides an option for the customer where they can submit their suggestions.

• Provides an option where the customer can check the current status of their queries/complaints.

• Helps customers to contact their respective Area Sub-Division by providing them with contact no & email-id.
